Meet Rocky. In 2020 I attended attended an RV show and was introduced to a large sugar glider breeding program. Now known not to be very reputable. But I fell in love I wanted a sugar glider but the price was alot and I had no supplies. So I left empty handed. I called a friend when I got home and asked if she still had her sugar glider. She did and I asked if I could have it. She brought him over and it was love at first sight. This is also when I realized the scary noises they could make. And how smart they are. They know who's around when she was there he was comfortable and I could hold him. But when she left he made the scariest sounds I had ever heard. He was scared.
I started learning all I could and knew they are colony animals and did best with friends and they can be very vocal. And there is lots of info on suitable and unsuitable diets. And info on how to bond with them. This was just the start of my journey I learn more all the time.
Rocky was literally the best he went places with me he rode in my pocket in my hoodie and generally LOVED everyone. Sadly in January 2024 he broke his tail and needed a partial amputation. Surgery went fine but the cone he had to wear caused him to be depressed he wasn't eating enough and I should have done things different a week after surgery he passed away. And from there I ended up with Drama and Covert my first breeding pair. But there were gliders before them I will go over too.
I am slowly going to work on finding pictures continue updating my glider journey.
