Foraging games are so good for sugar gliders in so many ways:

✓ The activity stimulates them mentally and physically
✓ It encourages their natural instincts
✓ And — obvious when you watch them play — they love it.

One of our favorite foraging toys: the Pocket Pets Ball Pit Kit.

Two of the most common mistakes that can be fatal to sugar gliders, according to veterinarian David Brust: 1️⃣ accidental dehydration 2️⃣ accidental toxicity poisoning from tap water. In this reel, Dr. Brust shares more about choosing safe water sources for your glider and why that's so important. As small as sugar gliders are, it's crucial to keep them hydrated. A few signs of dehydration: ➡️ low energy ➡️ low appetite ➡️ "wobbly" movement/lack of balance ➡️ loose skin (pull up on the skin between the glider's shoulder blades to see if it stays up or goes down slowly) If you notice these — the last one, especially — it's a good idea to call your vet. For day-to-day hydration needs, we carry a water bottle made specifically for sugar gliders. It's just the right size, BPA-free, inexpensive, and really cute.
