Futago Kennels Futago Kennels is based in Columbus, OH and works with other breeders to preserve the Japanese Akita and Hokkaido Ken.

We are proud members of AKIHO, JACA, and HANA. Futago Kennels started in 2016 when we first brought home our Japanese Akita, Dairyuu Kubo Go Kaijusou, or Kubo, from Kaiju Kennels. He is a co-own and we work very closely with Kaiju Kennels to help preserve and educate people about this Japanese national treasure. In April of 2017, we imported our first Hokkaido Ken, Ash*taka, after learning about t

he breed. We quickly connected with the breed and wanted to do our part to ensure these beautiful and courageous dogs can be protected. Together with the HANA project, we hope to use Ash*taka to broaden the population in the Unites States.
