They are never overworked as we rotate our group to ensure their mental and physical happiness. We operate a strict 200lbs weight limit for their protection. If you're looking for an exceptional adventure in Costa Rica, look no further than Discovery Horse Tours. Shawna and Rod, the owners, are amazing hosts who go out of their way to ensure a memorable experience for everyone, regardless of your abilities or prior experience with horses. We were a diverse group, including children and one person with a disability, and Shawna and Rod were able to perfectly adapt the experience to our needs. Their attention to detail, their passion for horses, and their desire to share their love for Costa Rica shines through every aspect of their tour. The horses are beautifully cared for, and it is an absolute joy to ride them through stunning scenery, from lush palm groves to mysterious rainforests, culminating with a refreshing swim in an idyllic lake. Shawna even introduced us to a mud bath, a hilarious experience that strengthened our group's bond. But what really sets Discovery Horse Tours apart is their ability to teach horse communication. Shawna, with her ability to be a horse whisperer, opened up for my daughters a world of understanding and mutual respect with these magnificent creatures. In just one session, she gave them a solid foundation in safety and horsemanship, sparking a budding passion for the discipline. This excursion with Shawna and Rod was the highlight of our trip, providing my daughters with the The most enriching experience of our trip to Costa Rica. We are already looking forward to returning to show Shawna and Rod the progress the girls are making, because, thanks to them, the riding adventure has only just begun. For anyone looking to create unforgettable memories in a setting Spectacular, with guides who genuinely care about you and the animals, I cannot recommend Discovery Horse Tours enough. Thank you, Shawna and Rod, for introducing my daughters to horseback riding so well and for making this experience more than just a ride, but a journey into the heart of the best that Costa Rica has to offer
