We were recently contacted about Jax and taking him into rescue. Unfortunately, we don’t have any fosters and despite him having a foster we would have no place for him in the event his current foster decided not to foster anymore. However, in still wanting to help we offered to courtesy post and help with screening any potential homes. This is what his current foster sent us as a bio:

Jax was found as he was being dumped by his owners. A Good Samaritan witnessed what was happening and quickly stepped in. She decided to take him home and foster him until a new home is found. Aside from being malnourished, Jax got a clean bill of health from his vet check up. He will be altered soon.
So far Jax has been a great house dog. He is very friendly with both resident dogs, male and female. He is playful with a great demeanor. He is 100% potty trained and is working on his house manners. He would benefit from continued basic training. He loves to go on walks but is not a high energy dog. He loves to cuddle and will follow you around the house. He would do best in a home with another pet and a place where someone is home a lot.
Jax is currently being fostered in Temecula and is available for meet n greets.

Unfortunately due to slow adoptions and having dogs sit in rescue for years we have had to put a halt on intake until some of our long termers are placed. However, yesterday we received an email regarding a dog that we cannot ignore. This is Chester Phillip. He is a 6 year old neutered Boston Terrier. His mom/owner has been in remission for Breast Cancer but just recently found out that it’s returned with a vengeance. She reached out in desperation because she doesn’t want to have to relinquish him to the shelter. We asked about finding a foster but she wants to rehome him and not worry about him bouncing around as she has a very long road ahead of her and making sure he’s settled in a forever home will give her the most peace of mind. She doesn’t have family and hasn’t worked in years so her circle is small and she’s desperate to ensure he is adopted by someone who will continue to live and cherish him as this is all he’s ever known. Chester Phillip has never shown any aggression to anyone but hasn’t been around kids. He’s great with other dogs. We are hoping to help her find a forever home for him so she can have peace of mind that he’s taken care of and focus on her health and personal affairs. Please help us help her and Chester by sharing and/or considering him to be a part of your family.

Nikki patiently waits at her kennel front each day until I arrive.
Nikki now knows the sound of my car and patiently waits at the front of her kennel each day for me. Yesterday we discovered a park while walking with a little historic house and Nikki walked right up to the door like she knew she was supposed to go inside. She wants a family of her own desperately. She’s such a good girl and is eager to follow the lead of her handler. She’s housebroken, not destructive, loves kids, walks amazing on a leash and knows basic commands. I believe with proper introductions she would go great with another large breed male. Just an update on Nessie the #newfie pup we recently #rescued. She’s settled into her foster home and quickly attached to her foster mom. However, she’s had some issues attaching to her foster dad and we think it’s just because she hasn’t really had any exposure to men. However, it’s important to us as a rescue that we work through any anxiety our dogs have as it’s our goal to adopt our dogs out as well adjusted dogs as we prioritize mental health. We’ve put together some strategies to help Nessie that include foster dad being the one to feed her, and walk her. We’ve also asked foster mom to leave Nessie with her foster dad when she’s out and about to help force Nessie to start bonding. We are working with another local rescuer to help find this boy a foster or forever home. His name is Hank and he’s a Presa’s canario, about 18 months. His rescuer had an adopter had an adopter lined up that fell through due to the family having an emergency. He’s scheduled to arrive in San Diego tomorrow and his rescue doesn’t have a place for him. Rescue is hard and we can do so much more, when we work together and we have a spot spot for the breed so just want to see him get his forever after. Please help us by sharing this beautiful boy for a foster or forever home. So far he’s been wonderful with people and other dogs. He did show some reactivity to a male dog, which is very typical for the breed so should only be placed with another dog if it’s a female.
