Amaya Papaya is adoptable! Straight from Love Island (Kitten Edition), Amaya Papaya is a grey tortie bombshell that is looking for her forever villa!

This sassy little islander loves sleeping with her human and giving the sweetest cuddles! When she’s not in cuddle mode, she’s a typical crazy kitten with frequent zoomies, always keeping life entertaining! She loves her cat toys, tower & tunnels, and sneaking up on her human & animal friends.

Amaya Papaya is great with both cat & dog friends, making her the perfect fit for almost any family. Affectionate, playful & full of charm, she’s ready to couple up with her perfect match!

Amaya's estimated birthdate is 05/29/2025. She is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, f***l tested negative for parasites, FeLV tested negative, FIV tested positive, and is on monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Her spay appointment is scheduled and included with adoption.

Kitties who test positive for FIV deserve loving, forever homes too. It is our job to advocate for them. Please reach out to ask questions about FIV so that you can feel confident in adopting an FIV positive cat!

Applebee, one of our FIV+ friends, wants to answer all of your questions about FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus)!

Myth: FIV cats won’t live long

Truth: With proper veterinary care, many FIV cats live normal lifespans and are just like any normal cat!

Myth: FIV cats can’t live with cats who don’t have FIV

Truth: FIV positive cats can live together with FIV negative cats! FIV is a viral infection that is transmitted via bite wounds and less commonly sexual contact. Normal cat behavior does not include inflicting bite wounds on one another. Studies have shown that the risk of transmission to FIV negative cats in the same household is low if they are demonstrating typical, friendly cat behavior.

Myth: FIV cats are hard to care for

Truth: For the most part, having a cat with FIV requires the same amount of care and attention you should be providing to any cat! FIV affects the immune system and can make a cat more susceptible to infections. There are cats that will be more severely affected and, if they do get sick, they may require longer courses of treatment. It is especially important to keep up with regular veterinary care for a cat with FIV and to reduce their risk of exposure to infectious diseases.
