Happy Friday cat-botherers!
We are nearly at the end of so today we'd like to bring some attention to a new-ish part of our community work in Moray.....we are working with charity partners inc Moray Food Plus to help owners feed their cats when times are tough.
Your incredible generosity in donating food, litter & other items to us means that we receive much more than we can use just on our foster cats.
And we know that people are struggling to feed their pets in the current financial crisis.
It is in everyone's best interests for cats to stay with their families.
The benefit of owning a cat / pet for both mental & physical health is well-documented, and at a time when the rest of your life is a struggle, having to give up a beloved cat is an unnecessary added heartbreak
And as a branch we just don't have the resources for an influx of cats; there is already a waiting list of several weeks for our foster spaces, and some poor catties have been waiting months as emergencies keep on coming.
So, you'll shortly notice new stickers on our donation bins, to make you aware that we will be redistributing your kind gifts via our community partners to ensure that they have the most impact on the wellbeing of all cats in our area.

Kittinnish cuteness alert!!!
We have eyes open.
The kittens were 14 days old yesterday and all their eyes have opened over the weekend.
I think this wee mini-mama minx will be first out of the crate...she keeps putting one foot out and changing her mind though

This is the spicy baby Mir. He had an appointment with the vet on Valentine's Day for removal of his troublepuffs. Unfortunately he had a reaction to the anaesthetic, his lungs filled with fluid and they had to stop & sort that out before they got a chance to do the surgery. He was then off his chops on ketamine for the rest of the day, eyes like black basketballs!!!
Take 2 was last Tuesday morning. I picked him up to put him in the carrier, he fought me, escaped & a comedy chase ensued. Mir ran and hid under the sofa literally until I was on the phone to the vet cancelling the appointment!
Take 3 was Thursday morning, I took him by surprise when he thought he was getting breakfast and the troublepuffs were duly removed *after a bit of drama over a newly detected heart murmur and a lot of praying that he would be fine under the (different) anaesthetic.
