Rescuing abandoned & orphaned kittens, providing them care & support, and adopting into forever homes Carin’ About The Strays, depends solely on volunteers.

Nonprofit We are based out of Cookeville TN serving Putnam County. We specialize in pregnant females, orphaned kittens, injured animals which are treated at Ragland and Riley Veterinary Hospital . Our rescued animals are placed in a foster home, where they can be socialized and house trained, which gives them a better chance to be adopted, and make the adoption more successful. We are a Cat Rescue

, but will try to help dogs and other animals find the help they need. Our animals have come from environments that were not healthy for the animals such as abandoned animals, orphaned kittens, pregnant females or animals that were given up due to owner financial or other issues. We rely on sponsors and donations to pay for medical bills for our rescue animals. We are always looking for foster parents for our animals that are in need of a loving and caring home. Get Involved! Become a Foster Parent: Fostering animals is a rewarding experience! Many of the animals have had bad experiences with the human population and are scared and untrusting, by becoming a foster home you will be able to socialize and gain the animals trust, and in doing that they will be better prepared to be adopted into their forever homes. It is very rewarding when you recognize the difference you have made in the animals life. Donate can! We accept monetary donations and we also gladly accept pet carriers, cat toys, treats, food, and anything else that can help with the health and comfort of our animals while they are in our care. We are begging! Every life we save comes with a cost. This tiny face is just one of 234+ cats in our care (& only 35 fosters to carry the load). The expenses are stacking up fast.

Each cat needs:

✂️ Spay/Neuter

👉 Total cost: $120 for males, $140 for females

And that’s 𝒷𝑒𝒻𝑜𝓇𝑒 food, litter, and extra care for sick or special-needs cats…not to mention toys, scratchers, collars, treats and everything else that goes towards a cat’s happy and healthy life.

💔 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀 𝗪𝗲’𝘃𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗱 💔

This week has broken our hearts.

A litter of four fragile kittens came into our care—each one showing signs of serious congenital issues. We did everything we could. Every bottle feeding, every vet visit, every hopeful breath… But despite our efforts, three of these sweet babies have already crossed the rainbow bridge. 🌈

Now, just one tiny fighter remains—clinging to life in the vet hospital. We’re doing everything we can to give them a chance. But intensive care is costly, and the bills are already adding up.

We believe every life is worth fighting for. This kitten deserves that fight.

🚨 URGENT FOSTER HOMES NEEDED 🚨

We don’t say this lightly… we are FULL. Every space, every crate, every corner is occupied — and the calls for help just keep coming.

Pregnant cats, strays with nowhere else to go, kittens who haven’t even opened their eyes yet… we want to say “yes” to all of them. We need to say “yes.” But without fosters, we can’t.

💔 Turning away a cat in need is one of the hardest things we ever have to do — and we’re at the point where we don’t have a choice unless help arrives.

This sweet girl’s past is touching—her elderly owners adored her, but sadly, they passed away. She’s been through a lot and deserves a peaceful, cozy home where she can feel safe and loved again.
