Nonprofit We are based out of Cookeville TN serving Putnam County. We specialize in pregnant females, orphaned kittens, injured animals which are treated at Ragland and Riley Veterinary Hospital . Our rescued animals are placed in a foster home, where they can be socialized and house trained, which gives them a better chance to be adopted, and make the adoption more successful. We are a Cat Rescue

, but will try to help dogs and other animals find the help they need. Our animals have come from environments that were not healthy for the animals such as abandoned animals, orphaned kittens, pregnant females or animals that were given up due to owner financial or other issues. We rely on sponsors and donations to pay for medical bills for our rescue animals. We are always looking for foster parents for our animals that are in need of a loving and caring home. Get Involved! Many of the animals have had bad experiences with the human population and are scared and untrusting, by becoming a foster home you will be able to socialize and gain the animals trust, and in doing that they will be better prepared to be adopted into their forever homes. If you’re looking for the sweetest cat in the state of Tennessee, look no further — Yasmin has captured all of our hearts!

We first rescued Yasmin last fall after she was sadly dumped at Greenwood Apartments. She quickly found a loving home, but her family recently had to move and couldn’t take her with them — so she’s back in our care, and honestly, we’re not even mad about it because we’ve missed her!

Yasmin is the queen of affection and the in-house paper shredder (toilet paper and paper towels beware!). Add in her adorable little cross-eyed stare, and you truly can’t even be mad.

She loves chasing thrown toys and gets along great with other furry friends — she’s been absolutely fascinated by the tiny kittens in our nursery!

If there’s ever been a cat we all fight over “foster failing” on, it’s Yasmin. Every PetSmart employee knows her by name — and trust us, one cuddle and you’ll understand why.

𝗘𝗹𝗶𝗼—𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗣𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴

When Elio came to us, his face was so raw and wounded, we feared he might not make it. We didn’t know if he’d been attacked, if it was something contagious, or if his own body was turning against him. All we knew was he was hurting—and he needed help fast.

The outpouring of love from our community was overwhelming. Because of you, Elio got urgent care, biopsies, and the specialized treatment he needed. The diagnosis? A severe fungal infection that could’ve cost him his life.

But today… just look at him.
The wounds are healing.
The light is returning to his eyes.
The boy who once flinched in pain now leans in for love.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘄𝗲 𝗱𝗼—𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿.

Today we’re celebrating a little swirl of sass and sweetness for National Tortoiseshell Cat Appreciation Day—say hello to Tiramisu!

This tiny tortie may be small, but she’s already showing off that signature tortitude we all know and love. With bold patches of caramel, cocoa, and cream, Tiramisu is a pint-sized adventurer who’s always on a mission—whether she’s scaling her castle or sneakily pouncing on unsuspecting toys twice her size.

She’s not quite ready to find her forever home just yet, but trust us—this little treat is going to be the cherry on top of someone’s life once she is. For now, she’s busy growing, exploring, and charming everyone she meets with those wide eyes and curious paws.

Torties are known for being spirited, strong-willed, and oh-so-loyal—and Tiramisu is no exception. Give a little extra love today to all the fabulous torties out there, and keep an eye out for this sweet girl when she’s ready to take on the world (and your heart).

Today, we’re tipping our hats (and maybe a catnip toy or two) to the queens of cat-titude—our beloved torties!

Tortoiseshell cats are famous for their bold, mottled coats of black, orange, gold, and cream. No two are ever alike! Some wear their colors in a “brindled” pattern, with the colors finely mixed like a feline marbled masterpiece, while others rock the “patched” look—distinct blocks of color like their own personal camouflage. Either way, they’re showstoppers.

But torties are more than just a pretty coat. They’re known for their tortitude—a sassy blend of independence, affection, and fierce loyalty. One minute they’re in your lap purring like a dream, the next they’re glaring at you like you forgot to refill the treat jar. And honestly? They’re probably right.

Around 99% of torties are female due to genetics—so they’re a rare kind of royalty. And in many cultures, tortoiseshell cats are considered symbols of luck and prosperity. Sailors used to bring torties aboard for safe travels, and in Japan, they’re believed to ward off evil spirits.

We just pulled several kittens from a heartbreaking 💔 situation—a home where cats were being allowed to breed unchecked, with multiple litters born into filth and neglect. This sweet girl is one of the many who’ve never known safety, comfort, or care.

One of our fosters has taken in 𝟭𝟳 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗸𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀 just to keep them off the streets. But we’re at our limit. We can’t keep going without more foster homes. ‼️

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿.

𝐓𝐍𝐑 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐬: 𝐃𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞—𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞!

Let’s talk about something that truly makes a difference—TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return)—and why picking up and relocating stray or feral cats can do more harm than good.

Feral and community cats are incredible survivors, and they rely on scent to navigate their world. They leave invisible scent trails with glands in their cheeks, paws, and tails. These “scent maps” help them find food, shelter, and safety in familiar territory.

When someone scoops up a cat and drops it off in an unfamiliar area—no matter how “safe” it seems—that cat is likely to try to get back home. Sadly, many never make it.

That’s why TNR is the safest and most humane solution. It involves trapping a cat, spaying or neutering them, vaccinating, and returning them to the environment they know. It stops the cycle of kittens and supports a stable, healthier colony.

How can you tell if a cat has already been “fixed”?
• Ear tip: A small slice off the top of one ear (usually the left) is a universal sign the cat has been spayed or neutered.
• Belly tattoo: Some vets also place a small green line on the lower abdomen to show the procedure was done—especially useful in females.

Sweet Rockie (aka Rock-C) is back with us after his recent adoption didn’t work out. His new family had the best of intentions, but unfortunately, the transition proved too stressful for him—especially with other pets in the home. It turns out Rockie needs a quieter space where he can adjust at his own pace and feel safe.

This brings us to something so important when adopting: the 3-3-3 Rule—a simple guideline to help set realistic expectations for your new furry friend’s adjustment period.

Our sweet boy Rockie (aka Rock-C) found his forever home!

With his gentle nature, instant purrs, and love for pets, it didn’t take long for someone to fall in love with him—just like we all did. Rockie came to us needing love, patience, and a fresh start… and today, he got exactly that.

Congratulations to Rockie and his new family—we’re so excited for this next chapter in his life!

𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴! 🌺 🌼

Spring has officially sprung (even if the weather hasn’t exactly gotten the memo yet), and Easter is right around the corner!

This week, we’re celebrating everything soft, sweet, and sunshine-filled—from pastel colors and bunny ears to blooming flowers and fresh starts.

Our cats and kittens have fully embraced the season of new beginnings (and longer naps). They may not be the best at finding Easter eggs… but when it comes to spotting the coziest sunbeam or fluffiest blanket for a nap, they’re total pros.

Follow along with us all week as we sprinkle in some Easter cheer, tortie appreciation, cat lady love, and of course—plenty of purrs.
