Ilana is a local to Hastings-on-Hudson! She is an animal lover who has volunteered with both a veterinary hospital and cat assistance organization in her past. She would love to help with your household's pets! Ilana has her own transportation and is extremely reliable. She is happy to do individual and/or group walks, take dogs to bark parks for some playtime, feed pets (cats, amphibians, or small furry; everyone needs breakfast), stay overnight and watch your home and dog, and more!

On today's walk we found a beautiful tripod named Shirley! She responded well to our crew, so we walked back to the car together for water and found her parents before we finished drop-offs.

If you find a dog who lacks tags and is friendly, call your local police, vets, and animal shelter to report the finding. You can also post, with a picture, to your local animal pages. Then, bring them to any emergency vet to get scanned for a chip.

Found tripod pup at zinsser field in Hastings on Hudson. I am taking it to get scanned for a chip. Call or text me at 914 714-2565 if you have any information!

Ilana is feeling better and is slowly starting up again. She looks forward to seeing all her dog friends soon!

Some shots from Monday and an update.

All immediately scheduled pup parents were notified, but unfortunately, ilana tested positive for Covid Monday afternoon. She will be (and is) isolating and healing. The hope is that she will be okay and ready to ramble again come the restart date of August 12th. Any changes to that will be posted and shared.

New Update! Ilana is almost back to full strength. She is slowly adding back pack members, and will reach out to everyone individually soon. If you have not heard back by the end of August please reach out (some texts are not sending properly)!

The larger and/or the more energetic packmates require the most strength, so unfortunately those pups will be the last added.

Wednesday's Walk with Chili and Harper

Since Chili handled meeting Maddy so perfectly, today I decided to start helping Chili with another hurdle, the car. Chili is not a fan of the car. Once inside the car, she is okay if her sister pup is there, but getting in is a challenge. To help with this, starting today, Chili will spend a little time in the air-conditioned car with Harper and Maddy before walking. Eventually, this will become routine, and she will realize the fun walk happens after the car, so she will get to learn that the car leads to fun! It will take time, practice, and more, but it's a training hurdle that we will get past.

Slowly but surely, I am getting back to full strength! Next week, I hope to add more friends too! I haven't forgotten any of my pup friends, but I am increasing the pack slowly and safely. I promise to reach out to everypup parent as soon as I am able to take your pup!

Tuesday's Traipsings Too

Chili is our newest neighbor. She is a rescue, so we have been letting her slowly get used to her new home/humans/pup sister/routines. Today was our first social walk! Chili (and her pup sister) got to meet and walk with my dog Maddy.

Maddy is trained to help teach dogs things like pack walk etiquette, decyphering social cues (from dogs and humans), and more. Chili responded perfectly to meeting Maddy and was okay when another dog friend ran over to say hi! This means Chili will be able to meet more friends soon!

Deer Ahead!

Due to the heat today, I tried to walk dogs in parks with grass, even if it was just a short circle, to avoid them near hot streets if it was possible. I noticed at the end of Kai and Mini's loop that we were going to approach a deer. I thought this was a good opportunity to show why I am only walking 2 dogs at maximum at the moment. Both these dogs listen very well to me. They are both small; if they pull, they do not jump or spin circles. I am slowly building my strength up. I am being very careful to only take on what I can handle. I know that since I work with animals, it means I HAVE to be prepared for the unexpected, so I need to plan for things like if a deer or coyote crosses our path and how to handle the situation safely. Safety is key, and it's why I knew how close I could walk to the deer with these particular dogs. #dogstagram #petcare #deer #dogfriends #dogtraining #dogwalking #dogs
