A new KNPV title in the pocket.

"KNPV puinzoeken B, 280 punten Certificaat Lof" (full points, with honors).

This is the 4th KNPV certificate for Hope. Her 3rd KNPV search dog certificate.

P.s. did you know that it’s NOT allowed in KNPV to train on the competition field for the Championships?
That’s why competitors train in other stadiums to get the dog used to things like echo and going past the “tent” the correct way.

We were fortunate to be able to train in this amazing football stadium 🏟

Just my two cents for those who are interested in how I think about dog training in general.

On the left a picture of me and Cajo at the Championships KNPV PH2, we just lost a lot of points in the recall exercise. But still could laugh at the typical “Etter” things about my boy Cajo. That’s the game, sometimes you win, sometimes you loose.
(Read the text in the picture for more insight)

On the right is a old picture (5-6 years ago) of Cajo in his prime when training, always lean body mass. That’s how your dog should be when working it.

76 dogs, 76 catches, 152 drives, over three days.

The helpers job is a physically demanding job that taxes the body. When we consider that every dog that steps on the field is being trained to be be faster, stronger, and more powerful than the dog before and the back half helper must faceoff with 76 of these dogs and drive them 152 times, we begin to see the level of athleticism, consistency, and determination that the national and world level helper must have.
