First retrieve in the wild for Dakota! Dakota came in mid-summer, went through basics and gundog & we sent him home for duck season.

He’s a really talented young dog we’re excited to see back in the spring and on the truck running tests next summer.

What a year!

Elkhorn Valley Hunting Retriever Club marks the end of our hunt test season this year.

A year ago we made plans to travel to the Fall Grand this year for one particular dog. But life had other plans. Those who train with me often know I still talk about Enzo often, and his loss is still felt around our house.

But in his wake, God brought me a tremendous group of young dogs and incredible clients who have become friends.

This year we titled:
SHR Georgia owned by Ryan and Pam Zegers
SHR Hank owned by Jon Squire
Dax ran and passed his first Started test.

HR Argo owned by Paul Otto

HRCH Rip (1 Master Pass) owned by Gabe Mackey
HRCH Charlie owned by Platte River's Pride Retrievers (2 Master Passes)
HRCH Duke owned by Chris & Libby Walsh

I’m small, I’ve never titled 3 HRCH in a single season before.

Rip is also my first Chessie HRCH and Duke my first golden.

I also got to experience the amazing joy of watching my son enter the sport and run his first test!

Thank you everyone who made this season a success! Club members, judges, bird techs, training partners and my beautiful & supporting wife Bailey, who without none of this would be possible!

Now we get ready for hunting season, with Gundogs coming in in a week and start to make preparations for next year.

The young talent in the Seasoned & Started level on my truck is solid right now and the future next year looks just as bright.

Again, thank you to everyone who made this possible. Have a safe duck season!

Had a great weekend at Dakota Hunting Retriever Club. One I look forward to every year. The club members are top notch & The grounds amazing! Thank you to all the judges who donated their time this weekend so the rest of us could play.

We went 11 for 12 this weekend, with dogs running in all 3 levels. And brought home two new titles.

The Dog Days of Summer Roll on!
This week’s featured dog is SHR Argo owned by Paul Otto.

Argo came in for training last spring as a giant and rambunctious puppy. She’s a gentle soul, a hard worker and plays by the rules.

She’ll be making her Seasoned debut this weekend at Dakota Hunting Retriever Club

Congratulations to HR Duke & Chris & Libby Walsh. Duke earned his WCX today in MO, Valley and was handled by his owner Chris.

Duke will head up to Dakota Hunting Retriever Club next weekend for his next HRC Finished Run.

The Dog Days of summer continues with:
HR Charlie (1 Master Pass).

Charlie is owned by Platte River's Pride Retrievers.

This fire cracker of a chocolate female is sweet natured and loving in the kennel, but an absolute beast on the line! We call her “The Chocolate Rocket”!

She is currently running HRC Finished & AKC Master tests!

The last two weeks have been a blur with back to back hunt tests held by both of our home clubs!

We had a great couple of weekends and saw success at all levels!

HR Charlie picked up her first Finished pass and was able to make through her first Master! Owned by Platte River's Pride Retrievers

HR Rip went 2 for 2 in Finished at Salt Valley! Gabe Mackey

HR Duke was also able to pick up a Finished pass! Chris Walsh & Libby Walsh

Georgia, our lone little started dog, (not pictured) of Black Goose Outfitters also picked up her first two Started passes.

And last but not least, my son Raylon ran our old man HRCH Rider MH in Started and was able to add 5 more points for him!
