The entry drawing for the 2026 Bank of America Chicago Marathon is now open, but you don’t have to worry about getting in. Join TEAM PAWS Chicago and enjoy a GUARANTEED race entry while raising funds for homeless pets.

We’re in awe of TEAM PAWS runners - not just because of what they accomplish on race day, but because they run for the cause of saving homeless pets. Their generosity raises hundreds of thousands in lifesaving funds every year!

In return, PAWS Chicago supports our runners throughout the year and on race day with tons of perks, free swag, discounts from our training and recovery partners, and pre- and post-race party steps away from the finish line.

Our dog feeding partner (and good friends) over at Kismet sent our pups an extra treat this month to get festive for the season 🎃🦇

But the only spooky thing here is the thought that these cuties don’t have a home yet! You can help us fix that - take home your own personal kissing booth in Cascabel, an absolute star in Pepper, or maybe you like a little streak of gremlin in your life to keep things interesting, that’s Oasis 😉

ADOPTION EVENT: Rescue pets are taking over Lincoln Park this weekend!

On Saturday, October 18, take a stroll down Armitage Ave from 12-3pm and find adoptable cats and dogs in some of our neighbors’ storefronts - pets are coming from Chicago Animal Care and Control Forever Fortunate Felines Chicago English Bulldog Rescue, Inc. and of course, our Adoption Center will be there full of adoptable cuties ready to meet you too.

More good news — adoption fees will be waived for select pets at our Adoption Center all weekend! Pictured here are a few of the eligible pets, but meet them all flagged “Adoption Event” at pawschicago.org/adopt

AND all pets at Chicago Animal Care and Control will have waived adoption fees all weekend long!

Happy National Vet Tech Appreciation Week!!

We are so excited to celebrate these hardworking, caring individuals who are the powerhouse behind our lifesaving work. Behind every story we share with you is a team of vet techs who made the hope of a second chance into reality.

The vet techs at PAWS didn’t just choose to go into the veterinary medicine field, they chose shelter medicine. Which means that for every IV placed, every 3 hour long haircut for an extremely matted stray, every treatment administered, they were also giving a double dose of compassion - for some pets who enter our care, it’s the first time they’ve felt that.

Thank you PAWS vet techs for the work you do year-round, we love you! ❤️
