Meet Wybie! 2-month-old Wybie was born without one of his front legs. He is also vision impaired, and possibly hearing impaired as well. Despite these challenges, Wybie finds all the fun in life, and is determined to bring a whole lot of fun into your life! Although training looks different with a vision impaired or hearing impaired pup, they love just the same ❤️ Ready to make Wybie part of your family? Come meet him at our Adoption Center or find his profile at pawschicago.org/adopt
Panther is one of several dogs in critical care at PAWS right now fighting parvovirus, an awful disease that wreaks havoc on their digestive system.
So when a parvo puppy like Panther starts eating on their own, it’s a BIG moment that we all celebrate with them.
Panther’s fight isn’t over yet - he’s already had a plasma transfusion and he’s doing really well considering, but he’ll stay in our ICU for the next week receiving care.
Our ICU is full with parvo pups and panleuk cats right now, all of which are getting a second chance that started with you. And pretty soon, we’ll be celebrating lots of adoption-bound survivors with you all ❤️
When we got the call that Jenny needed us, there was no time to waste. We were able to say yes in that moment because of your support, and Jenny and her babies are alive today thanks to you. Prairie, Otto, Daven, & Al are named after members of our team who played a crucial role in bringing this family into the world safely and lovingly ❤️Our Lifeline community of monthly donors help us plan for the future and respond in emergencies like Jenny’s - want to be part of that lifesaving team? We’ve spent a couple weeks with the loveliest boy that is Jefferson, and in between all the laps and snuggles, he beat leptospirosis! Now he’s still got some respiratory virus symptoms to clear up and medicated baths to help his skin heal, but he is available for foster. Interested fosters can apply at pawschicago.org/foster 💛
Bentley’s rescuers didn’t just save him from their car engine. This little guy was sick with a respiratory infection and in the early stages of panleukopenia, a deadly virus for unvaccinated kittens. If Bentley hadn’t picked their car as a hiding spot, it’s unlikely he would have made it battling the virus as a stray. Because we caught it so quickly and started treatment, Bentley flew through recovery! Today, Bentley arrived at our Adoption Center to find a loving home for a long life of orange cat antics 🧡
Check out our Angels with Tails event series!
Angels with Tails Gold Coast is the adoption event that started it all at PAWS Chicago, and last month was our 27th annual, where we celebrated 41 cats and dogs finding loving homes ❤️
Plus, local retailers not only opened their doors to adoptable pets, but hosted givebacks and activities to benefit PAWS, making this so much more of a lifesaving day! If you’re ready to adopt, or just looking for a fun summer day spent with adorable puppies and kittens, we hope to see you there!

DISASTER RELIEF: This afternoon, PAWS volunteers returned from a 18-hour round trip rescue ride to help an Iowa shelter in need.
After major flooding hit the residents of Northwest Iowa, the Humane Society of Northwest Iowa needed to make space for lost pets displaced by the storm, to help reunite them with their owners.
To help them make that crucial space, we welcomed 18 cats that had already been waiting for homes at the shelter (many for months, even years) before the storms hit. We also brought some much-needed supplies to the shelter to help them out during this difficult time.
Now that these kitties are settling in, we’ll provide them any care they need and help them find loving homes here in Chicago!
