Remi was a lot of fun this morning. She started out pretty good with everything and then started tensing up a little with the canter work. She missed a lead and when I went to correct her started getting fussy and anxious about it. We worked the canter a little bit more and then went back to the trot work. I had her go from stretchy trot to working trot and back and forth repeatedly until she settled down when being brought into the contact. We ended on that note of relaxation!

Horrid photo but trigger was unimpressed with returning to work this morning after a weekend off and I can’t blame him.

He worked well though really focusing on the canter, listening to the half halts, and making good transitions. Love this pony!

Trig had a fantastic early morning ride! He’s been having fits over the left lead canter lately, but this morning didn’t throw a single one. He did miss the lead a few times but allowed me to correct him without tensing up. We did a lot of work on softening and leg yielding.

Freddie had a great ride in the outdoor arena on Sunday. We got some practice tests in and worked on staying straight. He was drifting a little to the inside tracking left so we worked on that until he straightened up. We worked some transitions as well and just getting the feel for riding without the walls! Today we had good success with trailer loading!

Chase has been going great as we get ready to show again! We’ve spent a lot of time working on his lengthenings and he is starting to find them a lot better. We’ve also worked a lot of the canter to walk transitions and the antsy steps in between are disappearing. The lateral work is feeling more solid and consistent as well. Love this boy🩵

Fruity had ride #2 today and did really well for it. We spent a while on groundwork first and making sure she was comfortable. She really didn’t like me flapping the stirrup on her right side. I worked on it until she was standing comfortably while I did it. She also worked on moving forward and direction changes on the lunge line to make sure she was ready to try undersaddle. Once on her we worked on moving forward. She understood almost immediately what I wanted and was more forward in the walk. She did great with the changes of direction too at the walk! Super proud of her being a good girl!

Flower has had a couple of good sessions working on her long lining. She did much better today minus some spookiness. We were able to work at the walk and trot around the arena, through circles, and changes of direction. We’ve spent the last couple sessions working at the walk because she’s been distracted but today she moved on to the trot and did great!

Fat Albert has had a couple sessions that I’ve not updated but we’ve been working on standing quietly and leading nicely. He’s a little pushy, wanting to get back to his friend, so he walks past me and doesn’t like standing still. He’s been learning patience and that he has to respect personal space! He’s also working on trotting in hand, moving off of pressure, and yielding his haunches. He’s doing it all fairly nicely!

Remi was fantastic and calm today. We warmed up a lot of transitions and changes of bend at the walk and trot. She wanted to be a little stiff but softened nicely when asked. At the canter we got some nice transitions where she just stepped into it when asked without kicking her heels or throwing her head. From there we worked on holding a soft canter. After that we hopped over a couple jumps and ended since she handled everything so well!

Fifi was a super star today. Flip wouldn’t stop trying to distract but she did really good. Today was the first time she let me halter without backing up and throwing her head. She worked nicely from the get go on the leading, moving off pressure, moving haunches and picking up her feet. I started to hold her feet a little longer so she can be ready for the farrier in the future. I also introduced the back up to her today, just a couple steps. She was really good!
