We intentionally left some onions from last year in the garden so this year we can harvest them for the seeds.
Its really simple to do cut the seed heads, or umbels, from the plants and allow them to dry completely. Separate the seeds from the stems and other matter that makes up the seed head. Many seeds will fall out on their own. For the rest, place them in a bag, pound the whole bag against a hard surface.

Striving for perfection removes the joy!
Even a garden with weeds will produce.
Today we harvested 3 heads of broccoli, 2 8ball zucchini, peppers and purple green beans.
Now let's go fishing!

Our flock forages freely all day, obtaining most of their sustenance from scratching bugs and mulberries during the warm months. Our two roosters protect the hens from predators, while two Muskovy ducks accompany them on adventures.

The big boy takes his responsibility as a protector of the chickens seriously, always on the lookout for any potential threats and ready to defend his feathered friends at a moment's notice.

Mostly this just means he barks at everything.

Asparagus and eggs available today! Make the most of it by whipping up some homemade hollandaise sauce!
Here is my no fail recipe
HOLLANDAISE SAUCE

Egg Yolks – 3 eggs
Lemon Juice – 1 tablespoon
Dijon – 1 teaspoon
Salt – 1/4 teaspoon
Butter- 1/2 cup of melted butter
Melt the butter in a microwave for about 1 minute until hot.
Combine the egg yolks, lemon juice, dijon, salt and cayenne pepper into a high powered blender and blend for 5 seconds.
Slowly stream in the hot butter into the mixture as the blender is running.
Pour the sauce into a small bowl and drizzle over your meal!
