Well this is a new one…
The dogs have chased possums up trees and they have corned ground hogs before.
This time they treed a ground hog. The poor thing is so scared that it won’t come down (dogs are inside).

This past weekend, Lincoln and Sedona made their agility debut at Rising Star Canine Ranch. We could not be more proud of how well they navigated the busy environment and how hard they tried. The "icing on the cake" is that both dogs earned qualifying scores toward agility titles.
It was a super fun learning experience. The host club (Yorkshire Terrier Club of the Carolinas) was amazing and every single person competing was friendly and helpful. We definitely have room for improvement and will be working on a few things before we trial again.
Sometimes after a walk in the woods, you just need to take a nap using a branch for a pillow

Yesterday, Desert Sand's Sedona put on her big girl pants and made us proud. She won Best in Open Show at the AKC Tarheel Cluster Show under Judge Barbara Pessina. This win earned Sedona her AKC Certificate of Merit. Go Super Puppy!
We got the photos today from last weekend's FastCAT. 🥰
Sedona is on Cloud 9 right now. She got caught in an outdoor shower and April is licking her dry.
Sedona LOVES to get groomed by April. 🥰
Lincoln, Tucker and Sedona went to FastCAT again today. Everyone had a great time. Tucker earned his BCAT. 🥰
Can't wait to see the professional pictures!!!
Here are the professional photos from last weekend's FastCAT. Even though it was a little overcast, all three dogs had a great time!
Josie loves to groom Sedona
FastCAT FUN!!!
We took Tucker, Sedona and April to FastCAT this weekend. This was Sedona's first exposure and by her second turn she had figured it out like a pro. All three dogs had fun.
Sedona loves her kittens

A few weekends ago, Swamp Fox Mr. Lincoln competed at an International All Breed Canine Association conformation show where he earned his International Championship. He received the highest possible rating from all judges along with some really lovely compliments:
- "excellent balance and proportions"
- "beautiful, masculine yet classy"
- "balanced and well muscled"
- "light and balanced, easy mover"
Lincoln and Josie have been playing “nose boop the kitty” for about 15 minutes 😆
Lincoln thinks it's the best game ever
Lincoln is having a ball with the toy he won at CITP 🥰
What an amazing weekend.
Lincoln ended up winning an unbelievable 3 of the 6 Carolina Dog Breed Specialty shows. Go Lincoln!!
To top it off, Super Puppy Sedona won a Reserve Best in Specialty Show and she also won Best in Specialty Show once under Judge Helena Engelhauf. GO SUPER PUPPY!!!
Day 2 of CITP brought more fun and adventure!!! Two conformation shows, a canine first aid talk, lure coursing fun and a Howl-O-Ween costume contest.
In show 1, Sassy Sedona won Reserve Best in Show. She didn't show her best but that's OK, she's still quite young and has a bright future ahead of her. Thank you Judge Emily Carabello!!!
In show 2, Lincoln blew me away by winning a third breed show this weekend. Go Lincoln!!! Thank you to Judge Kim Rowley! This was an especially meaningful win.
Today was a very good day.
Swamp Fox Mr. Lincoln, bred by Dr. I Lehr and Mrs. Donna Brisbin, won both of the Carolina Dog Specialty shows held at Carolinas in the Pines. We' re so very proud of him!!!! The competition was stiff. Many high quality dogs participated. We have two more days of showing so stay-tuned. :)
Thank you to all of CD friends, the CDSA, Judge Mary-Lynn Jensen and Judge Linda Reece.
Snuggle pups!
Approximately 40 reported Carolina Dogs and Carolina dog mixes were seized from a home of an individual in Auburn, Illinois Sunday October 1, 2023 after receiving reports of abuse and hoarding. Several of the animals were in very poor condition, and there were also deceased dogs found.
While The Carolina Dog Society of America (National Breed Association with the United Kennel Club) has no affiliation with this person or their program, we cannot let the need for these animals go unmet.
The Carolina Dog Society has set up a “Go Fund Me”, and will match the first $1000.00 dollars donated.
Please help these dogs in need get what they deserve - a healthy life in a happy home.
Donations of any amount will be accepted and all proceeds will be given directly to the shelter.
Thank you for your help.

We haven't shown in UKC for 3 months. I'm proud of Lincoln for holding onto the #1 Carolina Dog slot. Sedona is currently sitting at #5.
There are several Carolina Dog shows in October so dog rankings will probably shuffle some. And that's OK! We're proud of our friends and their dogs' achievements. Go Team CD!
It’s persimmon season and the dogs are loving it!
Super Puppy Sedona is growing up. She won Best in Open Show at the AKC Tarheel Labor Day Cluster yesterday!!!!!
We showed both Thursday and Friday. Sedona handled the environment and judge exams well. For the first three shows she placed second in the FSS Group, behind a lovely Karelian Bear Dog that went on the win Best in Open Show. In the fourth show, Sedona showed really well and won the FSS Group and then Best in Open Show. So proud of this shy and sassy puppy.
Today we have two more shows and then she gets to enjoy the rest of the Labor Day holiday.
April and Josie 🥰

Tucker and CJ playing… I only caught the tail end but it’s still cute! Tucker play bows to the kittens and they do silly kitten stuff, then he play bows and they respond again. Rinse, repeat. 😻
Sedona has been here for a full week. She’s made friends with the adult dogs and learned how to DIG!!!
