K9 NOSE WORK starts this Tuesday at 6:00 pm! 2 spots left!! Check out Miss Cricket - she has been training for about a year and totally nailed it this past week!! She navigated some challenging hides. Here she is finding some birch, anise, & clove like a pro! This is HUGE for her as she can sometimes be a "nervous nellie" and sensitive about new environments. She has really gained confidence. ❤️ This is one of my favorite things about nose work! If your dog is shy, or just needs a job, this is for you! 🐶

Does your dog have a great sniffer?? Intro to K9 Nose Work starts Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m.! Dogs of all ages can participate. Just look at Hope! She's one of our oldest students at 9 years old and she's just as driven to search as any of the other dogs are! Nose Work is such a blast - a great mental outlet for any dog! They are SO tired after class!

Golden retriever Maggie is one of our Therapy Prep students. Part of her future job will be visiting hospitals, where there are often balloons. Balloons have been a nemesis for her as she was frightened by them in the past. She and her mom have been working really hard lately inbetween classes to desensitize her to balloons. Angel and her doggy sister Lily have been coming to us for obedience lessons these last couple of months. They have been taking turns with who attends each week, since they struggled to focus with one another in the room initially. This has been a great opportunity for them to get to have their humans all to themselves! Today was our last session, and it was Angel's turn. She wore the hat like a pro! Proud of this sweet family. 😊

Wow! Riley's "big sister" is quite the junior handler, working with him on leash walking for the first time! 💕 Way to go!!

"Leave it!" 🐶 Stella is killin' it in Beginner Obedience class, learning to leave things that fall on the ground! This is such an important safety skill, one of many that we teach! Bring your pup and join us for a class! 😁 We have openings starting in early May at Altadena Valley Animal Clinic and additional openings in June at Top Dog Birmingham, Magic City Acceptance Center, & Pet Wellness Animal Hospital And Club Mutts.

Clark is learning the concept of "leave it" in Beginner Obedience! We start by teaching the dogs to leave a treat in our hand, and then a treat that falls on the ground. With practice, this cue can be used to teach a dog to leave dangerous objects alone, like pills, sharp items, or chocolate!

WOW! Rory is staying on his mat, even with a bowl of food right there on the chair and his mom walking away from it. She's even able to sit down and "eat" (it's dog treats, haha). SO proud of this little dude! His impulse control has improved 100 fold!! ❤️

Aster says, "Teacher, you don't even have to say leave it! I'm an expert at this!" 💕

Prepare to be AMAZED! Piper and her mama performed to some Tina Turner yesterday, and Piper rolled and spun on cue with the lyrics! I'm so incredibly proud of these two and how hard they practiced in tricks class!
