4th of July Check List
When it’s too late for major training, the best course is management. While you should be able to say “yes” to numbers 1-4 all the time, the others are more specific for dogs who have fear of fireworks. A little management can go a long way in preventing panic.
1. Is your pet’s microchip information up to date?
2. Is your pet wearing a collar with an ID tag with your contact information?
3. Does your dog have a tracking device such as a FI collar or Apple AirTag?
4. Do you have several recent pictures of your dog?
5. Does your dog need medication to help them cope? If yes, be sure to have it available.
6. Do you have a safe place for your pet that they cannot escape from? Do you know where your dog feels safest? Is it In a crate, under the bed, in a closet, or in the bathroom? Many times it’s in a small space.
7. Are you able to stay with your dog to supervise them? If you are unable to stay with your pet can you board them where they will be supervised?
8. Can you blast the radio or tv to help minimize the noise? Doggie ear muffs?
9. Can you exercise, train, and meet all their physical and mental needs so they are more likely to sleep BEFORE the fireworks start?
10. If you live in an area where a fireworks show starts at a certain time keep pets inside and be prepared before the noise starts. If you live in an area where they go off randomly all day you will need to be prepared all day.

Puppy group class working on “restaurant manners”. Our group classes aren’t your generic group class. We train real world useful skills so you can enjoy your dog more. Here we are teaching puppies to go under the legs and lay down.
Merry Christmas!
We still have availability for boarding over the Christmas holiday! We also offer pick up and drop off services for an added convenience.
Happy Halloween!
Daycare and training dog Archie enjoying his training field trip to Bass Pro. Archie was an excited puppy that got overly excited when meeting people, he pulled, barked, jumped on and mouthed people. He’s not aggressive at all but his behavior was definitely inappropriate. There’s no magical fairy dust when it comes to training dogs or changing behavior but consistency sure goes a long way.
Post a picture of your dog with their name and all their nick names in the comments

Big dogs = big poops, but we love them anyways 😊. These guys are all at least 90lbs.
We love helping owners reach their dog’s full potential. His owner can now enjoy him and Toby gets to go on more adventures now that he’s well behaved. Here’s a few pictures his owner sent us of Toby showing off his new manners back at home 💙

…Because dogs need a vacation too! Letting dogs be dogs, indoor boarding facilities just cant compare to a doggie vacation at our ranch. Don’t worry, Ginger got a complimentary bath afterwards. Now accepting reservations for spring break. Also, old dogs rule ❤️
Training puppies is my absolute favorite. They are like little sponges and learn things so quickly. I love when my clients are proactive and start training immediately vs waiting for chaos to commence. We can start in home lessons as soon as you bring your puppy home, no need to wait.

Sq**rt a chihuahua with water and they will likely think they just got sprayed with acid, spray a lab with water and they will think it’s the best day ever! Not all dogs look the same and not all dogs have the same motivations. We personalize our training programs for each individual dog so owners can reach their goals.

Meet Buzz! Buzz is available for adoption through Helping Herders Rescue. He is a 4 month old neutered Australian Cattle Dog. This guy has a fantastic temperament. Buzz is friendly with big dogs, small dogs, cats, and friendly/curious with horses. He isn’t pushy or dominant, he’s just a nice guy. Friendly with everyone he meets including kids, he loves my 3 yr old son. His only fault is that he’s deaf. But is it really a fault? No worries on 4th of July as he can’t hear fireworks, no worries about barking at the door because he won’t be able to hear the doorbell ring! We will be training him to give attention to a remote vibration collar and then he will be taught with hand signals and physical cues. Did I mention…He’s a really nice puppy! He may not be up on their website yet but contact them if you’re interested in Buzz Feel free to share the post or donate, they are a great reputable rescue https://www.helpingherdersrescue.org
