Thankful for the sunshine and my awesome trimmer, Bradley James Kelley! Also very proud of Lucky, who got trimmed at liberty today. Lately he has been not wanting to be caught on "Trim Day" so I've been picking up his feet randomly at liberty and during meals. It felt right to try it this way today and Lucky got his overdue trim.

Do y'all remember this mare Wilda? She came to me in TN with some pretty serious problems that needed to be addressed.
Well Wilda and Lilian placed 5th out of 40 entries in their division at the AEC finals in Lexington. I'm so thankful that I was able to play a part in her rehabilitation. Thank you for trusting me Dianne! Thank you to Rose as well, for your help with her.

Stop thinking you have to be entertained during your lesson!!

Lessons are where you learn to be a better rider and a better horseman. That is hard work. It’s not all fun and games.

If you’re just beginning, you’re going to walk a lot so get used to it. Once you begin to trot, it will be a long time before you canter.

Riding require balance, coordination, softness and many other things. Your brain has to learn how to multitask. You have to remember to keep an engaged seat and core, use your legs, look where you’re going, use the appropriate amount of pressure on the reins at all times, steer the horse and still be able to monitor your horse and understand and relay all the feedback you are getting from your horse and react in a timely
🤯

Riding uses a lot of muscles. Expect to be sore for awhile if you’re just starting out. Getting on a stretching or workout program will help strengthen your core and legs and help you recover much quicker after your rides.

Have goals that you want to work towards!! It’s going to take time to achieve those goals but if you stay committed and keep your lessons and learning a priority, you will find that those goals are more than easily attainable!

And find an instructor that wants to help you succeed! Find someone that you work well with and that alines with your core values. Also find someone that respects you as an individual and will push you to be a better horseman and
rider.

Learning to Ride is a never ending experience.
Never settle for mediocre. Push yourself to be the best rider you can be!!

Gorgeous 6 year old Foundation bloodlines QH mare. She is as close as you can get to 100% pure foundation blood. Super sweet, sound, and sane. Sound barefoot, great feet. Up to date on everything. Started later in life, so she is more green than she should be. Ready to finish your way! Trail rides, exposed to a rope and gunfire. Stands great for farrier, stands tied very nicely, loads, unloads, travels well. Stalls great or can live outside. Located in Morriston FL.
