I left food out in the box Friday, and yesterday only Percy showed up, though I left food in the box afterwards.
I always worry for the unhoused animals during typhoons, so I was quite concerned for Brownie.
There's a tree down and the gardener's shelter where I feed them is pretty trashed though but not as bad as it could be. I'm pretty impressed with the construction.
THANKFULLY, they both showed up again today! ♥️
Percy has stopped barking at me when he sees me, then he eats and finishes, and THEN barks at me. 😵💫
He's a 🍆.
Today, I think he only barked twice, sooo progress?
And I put my hand on the edge of Brownie's pot and he ate anyways.
I feel like Brownie wants to be friendly. He hung out after the food was finished a little again today. ♥️
Floyd is making me think about the Monkey Mountain puppies and I was looking through some old videos.
Here's me trying to kiss Mascha (formerly Tippy and Arya) without getting a tongue face wash, but she sure tried! 😅
Floyd is one of the most affectionate dogs I've ever had, but the girl was on a level all her own.
I'm told she's now at the office every day, and as much as I miss her, I bet she is happier with a whole bunch of people to love.
She was like an overflowing fountain of love! ♥️
I was so happy to see Brownie again today.
I guess he's more rain averse than Percy and I was starting to worry!
He got nothing yesterday, because he didn't show up and Percy ate way more than I expected and ate all I brought, so today he got the lion's share.
Brownie has caught up and sped past Percy.
Brownie is still thin, but looking soooooo much better and he has a super full belly here.
He is 100% a boy and I'm pretty sure he and Percy also have the coin purse scrotums of a recent neuter. (I'll spare y'all the forensic photos) They almost surely were all TNR'ed and dumped. Usually, they return them to where they came from, but sometimes there's a reason they can't.
I believe an individual dog would've gone looking for food, but their bonds likely worked against them in this case.
I'm so thankful that Floyd found me or they probably wouldn't still be here today! ♥️
Wow! Just checked since first sighting. What a difference 3 weeks can make!
Well, I had a few terrifying minutes after I pulled a stupid move, but I had a great result today anyway.
I stupidly used my teeth to sever one of the giant leaves (as you can see in the road here) I use to put the dogs' food on and was fine... until a few minutes later when I felt my throat closing. I started spitting as much as I could and wandered over to a stream and gargled and rinsed as much as I could. After a few minutes, my throat started feeling better, but still feels a bit off even an hour later.
This was a lot earlier than I usually feed the dogs on the weekend. I had left some of the food and saw ants, so I was having second thoughts about leaving the food, potentially, all afternoon. I took a walk and came back and no dogs.
Just as I was about to leave, they showed up and not only did they follow me a bit, they ate probably a handful of meters away from me.
This is a huge step for Brownie!
I caught him yawning and, very common for Taiwan dogs, his tongue is pretty much half black and he's got a great set of teeth!
He's pretty much an indoor dog now though. ♥️
It wasn't for long, but I put Floyd on leash to get around the big German Shepherd and he showed zero leash reactivity. ♥️
Someone tagged along with us on our walk today.
...aaaaaaaand also found out he was still skinny enough to get through the gate when thunder was approaching and came in the house and met everyone and let me put a leash on him, but I didn't try leash walking him.
