I just can’t keep my eyes open!!! (since losing bff Spike I think Obi has taken a while to really feel the loss. The last few days he’s lost a bit of Sparkle. Sometimes he looks much older. I’m not sure if it’s just my imagination but I don’t think it is). Let’s do something fun today to lift our spirits ❤️💔🐾

A lovely day today. Meeting up with Nephew DJ and little Yoda (unfortunately no photo of the pap Yoda!) Such a handsome boy! We had a good run around in the sunshine. ❤️🦋🦋

Obi went to for a meet and greet and look who was there, Frankie the 13 year old phalene! It was a lovely experience and I think he’ll sleep well this afternoon. 🐶

Spikey 💔23.8.24 aged about 15 years. Obi’s bestie for over 7 years and our faithful friend for 13. Old age brought multiple problems, eye problems, arthritis, cognitive issues until every day there was a new illness that we couldn’t cure. This last week we could see a huge decline in his quality of life… after observing neurological issues, ataxia and a huge increase in eating and drinking , I could sense this week we would be facing something catastrophic within days. So we gave him an amazing last day, took him for his favourite walk, gave him lots of all his favourite food and took him to visit people who loved him. Thank you Spike for all your love and loyalty, you really were the best boy and taught me so much. We will always love you and never ever forget you. 💔💔💔💔💔💔 I still find it hard to believe I’ll never stroke those ears again 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲💔

Lovely Spike our old rescue, is around 15 years old. Yesterday he had a 2 hour anaesthetic for surgery to his eyes at in Banbury. I have to say I was in two minds about the surgery but the alternative was to unpleasant to consider. Less than 24 hours after his thermokeratoplasty, Spike is comfortable, opening both eyes and bumbling about the house with very little obvious difference to his sight at the moment. Without the surgery his eyes would have continued to ulcerate and cause him awful pain. The difference between him now and pre surgery is huge. After the initial recovery from the GA, he’s now super comfortable and seems so relaxed, he looks much happier too. So far I’m pleased we did the surgery, he has several weeks of recovery to go but so far it’s really promising ❤️ Thank you Focus Referrals for impeccable care ❤️🐾
