Many years ago I started this stage to share what I had learned by having a"Yellow Dog". His name was Foster and he was terrified of everything except me and his other dog companions who lived with us. But after 12 years of living a very private life he has passed due to congestive heart failure. Having Foster was such a priceless and rewarding experience and his unconditional love will be missed beyond measure. I hope his inability to be social and developing this page has been helpful and that his life has been a lesson for all that knew of him and the few who actually had the pleasure of meeting him. He now runs free of fear and a healthy heart.💔

Great day at "Strut Your Mutt" yesterday! Handed out 350 flyers and hugged sooo many Dogs. I met so many like minded folks and witnessed a few times that the yellow ribbon could/should have been used. These are just a few of the many pictures I took and my favorite of the day was a little guy named Jake, second picture after the Big Dogs and myself. Thanks to those that took the time to listen and share.

Please share!

Just a reminder that not all Dogs are capable of defending themselves and need special attention, and love of course. Give them the space they need to feel safe!

I would like to thank all of you that are already using your yellow ribbons and I would like to encourage anyone who has a dog that needs space to do the same. But we need more education to go out to the general public and I need EVERYONE'S help in getting the word out. I will gladly send the pdf on any of the fliers if you want to download them. We need to get in front of city councils and other government officials and encourage the use of signs at all the dog trails & dog parks. So if you have the resources to spread the word please do. Once again I am available in the evenings to reach me by phone and my phone is NOT a cell phone so please do not try to text me. Remember that this is a community project. 435-705-9309. :)

It seems that The Yellow Dog Project is not what Salt Lake & surrounding area's is wanting. I have handed out 200+ fliers & business cards and not had any response. I have been to many clinics, businesses and articles have been written. Without community support I can no longer continue other than just word of mouth. I have ran out of fliers and without some support I can not afford to have more printed as they are not cheap. So if anyone else would like to step up and help out we can keep this going. Otherwise it will just remain a great idea for the Salt Lake Valley that never happened! 435-705-9309 call me!

A HUGE THANKS to Deb Myers of Pets in The City for letting me share her booth yesterday at Strutt Your Mutt! I am thrilled at how many folks were interested and supportive of this important issue. And really glad that many of you are already using your yellow ribbons. So lets move forward and spread the word. I am anxious to see new posts and members so be sure to LIKE the page and add any comments. It was my pleasure to meet so many awesome folks yesterday! And of course I had a blast kissing & hugging all the Dogs!

I want to Thank everyone that has Liked the Project and I ask that you share with anyone who might want to get on board or would like more info. We have alot of work ahead of us and education is the key to making this work. As many of you know I have a couple of "Yellow Dogs" because they are terrified of other dogs and humans as many puppy mill rescues are. So for them and all the others for whatever reason that need more space when in public we need this to work! If anyone has any suggestions or would like to be a sponsor please send me a message.

Thanks again to all my friends and family for your support!

Patti

Welcome to “The Yellow Dog Project”!

I started this page years ago because of my own “Yellow Dog” who is terrified of people and other Dogs. I think this is an opportunity for all Dog parents to educate the public and especially children about what Dogs are approachable by seeing the yellow ribbon. It is not breed specific since any dog of any size or breed can be considered a “Yellow Dog” and for a number of different reasons. I hope you will find the information useful and please share it with others. Also anyone is welcome to reprint the flyers that are featured in the photo section. You can also visit the international “Yellow Dog Project” for more info and to see how many other countries are already active in the project.
