!!URGENT FOSTER CARER NEEDED!!

Leo is a young 7month old boy who is in desperate need for a foster home.
As he is only young he needs someone who is able to spend some time with him to teach and train him.
Leo would prefer a home without small children or cats.

If you have a loving home who can teach Leo how to be a happy boy;

WHO We are calling out for a Carer in the Brisbane / Gold Coast / Sunshine Coast or Toowoomba areas who can commit to caring for this dog until they are adopted.

WHAT A Foster Carer provides a temporary home until PPAR can find a forever home. We pay for the dog’s vet work, ongoing flea treatment and can even provide food.

HOW If you can foster, please complete the application to foster at
https://ppar.com.au/foster/application/

Regardless of the urgency, we cannot allocate a dog without a completed application

Without the support of our followers we wouldn’t be able to keep taking in dogs in need.

You can donate:

💲 a bank transfer into our bank account BSB 013265 ACCT 222863901. If you donate straight into the bank account, please send us an email to [email protected] with a copy of your receipt so that our volunteer accountant can issue a tax receipt.

Everyone who is thinking of getting dogs should read this because you need to understand this reality:

***I am a 21st century dog.***
-I'm a Malinois.
Overskilled among dogs, I excel in all disciplines and I'm always ready to work: I NEED to work.
But nowadays I get asked to chill on the couch all day everyday.

-I am an Akita Inu.
My ancestors were selected for fighting bears.
Today I get asked to be tolerant and I get scolded for my reactivity when another approaches me.

-I am a Beagle.
When I chase my prey, I raise my voice so the hunters could follow.
Today they put an electric collar on me to shut up, and you make me come back to you - no running - with a snap of your fingers.

-I am a Yorkshire Terrier.
I was a terrifying rat hunter in English mines.
Today they think I can't use my legs and they always hold me in their arms.

-I'm a Labrador Retriever.
My vision of happiness is a dive into a pond to bring back the duck he shot to my master.
Today you forget I'm a walking, running, swimming dog; as a result I'm fat, made to stay indoors, and to babysit.

-I am a Jack Russell.
I can take on a fox, a mean badger, and a rat bigger than me in his den.
Today I get scolded for my character and high energy, and forced to turn into a quiet living room dog.

-I am a Siberian Husky.
Experienced the great, wide open spaces of Northern Europe, where I could drag sleds for long distances at impressive speeds.
Today I only have the walls of the house or small garden as a horizon, and the holes I dig in the ground just to release energy and frustration, trying to stay sane.

-I am a border collie
I was made to work hours a day in partnershipwith my master, and I am an unmistakable artist of working with the herd.
Today they are mad at me because, for lack of sheep, I try to check bikes, cars, children in the house and everything in motion.

I am ...
I am a 21st century dog.
I'm pretty, I'm alert, I'm obedient, I stay in a bag...but I'm also an individual who, from centuries of training, needs to express my instincts, and I am *not* suited for the sedentary life you'd want me to lead.
Spending eight hours a day alone in the house or in the garden - with no work and no one to play or run with, seeing you for a short time in the evening when you get home, and only getting a small toilet walk will make me deeply unhappy.
I'll express it by barking all day, turning your yard into a minefield, doing my needs indoors, being unmanageable the rare times I'll find myself outside, and sometimes spending my days sunk, sad, lonely, and depressed, on my pillow.
You may think that I should be happy to be able to enjoy all this comfort while you go to work, but actually I’ll be exhausted and frustrated, because this is absolutely NOT what I'm meant to do, or what I need to be doing.
If you love me, if you've always dreamed of me, if my beautiful blue eyes or my athletic look make you want me, but you can't give me a real dog's life, a life that's really worth living according to my breed, and if you can't offer me the job that my genes are asking, DO NOT buy or adopt me!
If you like the way I look but aren't willing to accept my temperament, gifts, and traits derived from long genetic selection, and you think you can change them with only your good will, then DO NOT BUY OR ADOPT ME.
I’m a dog from the 21st century, yes, but deep inside me, the one who fought, the one who hunted, the one who pulled sleds, the one who guided and protected a herd still lives within.
So think **very** carefully before you choose your dog. And think about getting two, rather than one, so I won't be so very lonely waiting for you all day. Eight or ten hours is just a workday to you, but it's an eternity for me to be alone.

Mini’s Bulldog Rescue needs YOUR HELP!!
https://mbrc.giveeasy.org/urgent-help-for-us-to-reopen

We launched a fundraiser on Sunday night and have just hit $12,000 funds raised on the officially tally. Thank you to everyone who has so generously donated, and shared the fundraiser with friends and family 💕💕 your support means so much at this challenging time

In some incredible news we were contacted by some long-time supporters today and their family foundation has pledged a whopping $10,000 towards this Mini's Bulldog Rescue fundraiser! We are working with the foundation to make this happen and hope to be banking a cheque very soon 🙏🏻 we are eternally grateful for their support and will post an appropriate thank you once this has been completed.

That leaves us ONLY $5,000 LEFT TO RAISE to reach the total fundraiser goal of $27,000.

Please dig deep - if you were waiting to get paid or didn't get a chance to make a donation yet, please please we would appreciate the support so that Mini's Bulldog Rescue can pay the current outstanding vet bills and re-open.

With the recent bulldogs who came into rescue care, their medical needs are far beyond what we anticipated and have funds available for. We’ve had to make the difficult decision to TEMPORARILY CLOSE Mini’s Bulldog Rescue from helping new bulldogs until funds are raised urgently and outstanding vet bills paid.

Please have our backs like we had George's, dig deep so MBRC can keep operating and help more bulldogs.

Please comment ‘DONE’ on the post after you have donated (thank you), this will hope extend the reach of this fundraiser and the $27,000 goal to be reached as soon as possible.

Please donate now so we can raise the last $5,000 desperately needed:

Please help support this rescue if you can.

❗️We need to ask for your attention ❗️
Mini's Bulldog Rescue is temporarily closed until further notice.

This is due to the medical needs (and associated costs) of the bulldogs in our care far exceeding what we expected when taking these bulldogs on. Combined with the overwhelming number of new requests for help every single day. This isn't the odd message or email, we are getting 5-6 new requests every day at the moment.

Those new to MBRC can't believe there is a need for a bulldog specific rescue, let alone so many bulldogs needing our help that we can't keep up. It's a full blown crisis!

To dig our way out of the difficult financial situation MBRC is in we will be launching a new fundraiser in the next few days. We hope to find the support quickly so we can stand up out of this hole MBRC is currently in.

Exceptions may be made for life and deaths intakes from pounds where a foster carer can be found so the occasional bulldog may still be posted for a suitable home, but MBRC is otherwise closed until further notice.

Please give generously when the post the fundraiser. Many bulldogs are depending on you

Frank and Bronson, ages 6 and 8 are in search of a foster home as they continue their journey to find their forever family.

These two charming boys have captured our hearts with their playful and affectionate personalities. 💕

Frank loves his toys, adores playing fetch and is a true water enthusiast who enjoys dips in the creek and lounging in his shell pool.
He is always up for up for belly scratches, extending his paw for more when you try to stop.

Meanwhile, Bronson is a gentle soul who craves companionship, sticking close by for cuddles whenever possible.
He loves exploring the outdoors and cozying up with his foster siblings.

Both boys are dog-friendly and best suited with low-energy females, they prefer a home without cats and with children aged 8 and above.

💚 QSAR will ensure that all the needs of these dogs are met, including providing food, flea, tick, and worming preventatives, as well as veterinary care.

If you're able to foster, please complete the foster application below: 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

It's really not ok to cut off bits of a dog's anatomy because we want to.

The practice of ear cropping in dogs, a surgical procedure often carried out for aesthetic reasons, raises several welfare concerns.

Pain and Distress: Ear cropping is a painful procedure that involves the cutting of a dog's ears, often without any medical justification. Dogs experience pain and distress during and after the surgery. Moreover, the healing process can be lengthy and uncomfortable for them.

Behavioural Implications: Dogs use their ears for communication. Cropped ears can hinder their ability to express themselves and communicate with other dogs effectively, potentially leading to misunderstandings and behavioural issues.

Risk of Complications: Like any surgical procedure, ear cropping carries risks such as infection, bleeding, or an adverse reaction to anaesthesia. These risks can have serious, sometimes life-threatening, consequences for the dog.

Psychological Impact: The procedure can be traumatic for dogs, especially since it is done at a young age. This trauma can have lasting psychological effects, affecting the dog's temperament and behaviour.

Ethical Considerations: Many argue that ear cropping is a form of mutilation and goes against the principles of animal welfare and ethics. It's seen as an unnecessary modification of a dog's natural state for purely cosmetic reasons.

Legal Issues: In the UK, ear cropping is illegal under the Animal Welfare Act 2006. Performing or commissioning such a procedure can lead to legal repercussions, highlighting the seriousness with which this issue is regarded.

Overall, the welfare concerns surrounding ear cropping in dogs are significant and multifaceted, touching on physical, behavioural, psychological, and ethical aspects of canine wellbeing.

These concerns align with a broader movement towards more humane and respectful treatment of animals in society.

HANK needs our help, and this close to Christmas is less than ideal of course. He deserves peace and comfort in his twilight years.

This poor boy has already undergone surgery for his toe removal due to a nasty growth and NOW he needs teeth removed which may also break his jaw ☹

We have needed to engage a specialist due to his age and the possibility of his jaw breaking, we urgently need to get this tended to and of course its all about getting him back to good health but we are struggling for funds like most rescues, with vet work like this not currently in our budget…

Can you please help Hank? Every donation big or small will help Hank get this surgery done sooner than later. We have him booked at this stage for 12th December and so hoping we can honour this date. Every donation over $2.00 is tax deductible.

We have been quoted $1500 for this surgery please, please help, what a great Christmas present for Hank to be able to eat and chew better without pain.

Your donation will go towards helping us to cover the training DJ needs to help him find the forever home he deserves.

You can donate:
💲 through our website www.PPAR.com.au
💲 a bank transfer into our bank account BSB 013265 ACCT 222863901. If you donate straight into the bank account, please send us an email to [email protected] with a copy of your receipt so that our volunteer accountant can issue a tax receipt.
