Meet the Client: Pepper and Murphy! 🐾

Meet the adorable duo, Pepper and Murphy! These two are the sweetest pair, always happy to cuddle up and enjoy some well-deserved snoozes on the couch. Whether it’s lounging in the sun or cozying up indoors, they know how to make the most of their relaxation time. 💤 When they aren’t cozying up on the couch they enjoy a slow stroll around the park and a good puzzle game to get stuck into 🥰🧩

🌟 Introducing Hove Paws’ Star of the Week! 🌟

We’re excited to start celebrating our furry friends each week, and this week, it’s Fergus! After his operation, he may have limited spacial awareness but he’s been such a good boy with his cone on! Fergus always brings so much joy to our week and we are excited for him to fully recover so we can get back to running around the park and watching him play with other pups!

You recognise the girls from their adorable TikToks, but when they’re not lighting up your feeds, they’re out enjoying their seaside adventures with us!

Meet Seamus! 🐾

Seamus is a blind dog with a heart full of love and affection. Though he can’t see the world around him, he navigates it with incredible confidence and a lot of snuggles! 💕 Seamus is all about lying on the sofa, ear scratches, and belly rubs.

He might not have his sight, but he certainly makes up for it with his other senses—especially his sense of smell! He loves a snuffle mat and makes sure to find every last biscuit. His sweet nature makes him an absolute pleasure to care for.

We love working with Seamus and seeing him enjoy every moment of his walks and playtime. Can’t wait to share more of his adventures with you!

Does your dog get anxious when you leave the house? 🐾 Separation anxiety is common, but with the right approach, you can help them feel more secure when they’re alone. Here are 5 simple tips to reduce their anxiety and build their confidence!

✨ 1. Change up your departure cues
Avoid your dog anticipating your departure by mixing up your routine—grab your keys or put on your shoes without leaving to help ease their worry.

🐕 2. Gradually increase time alone
Start with short durations and slowly build up, so they learn it’s okay to be by themselves.

🔍 3. Know their stress signals
Pacing, panting, or whining? If you spot these, take a step back and work at their pace.

🧩 4. Provide enrichment while you’re gone
Keep them busy with puzzle toys or treat-filled KONGs to make your absence more enjoyable!

🤫 5. Keep goodbyes and hellos calm
Avoid high-energy farewells or reunions. Calm and quiet is the key to reducing their anxiety.

Consistency is key! 💡 Stay patient and work at your dog’s comfort level. How do you help your pup cope with separation anxiety? Let us know in the comments! 👇

Does your dog get anxious when you leave the house? 🐾
Separation anxiety is common, but with the right approach and some patience you can help them feel more secure when they’re alone. Here are 5 simple tips to reduce their anxiety and build their confidence when you are out of the house!

✨ 1. Change up your departure cues
Avoid your dog anticipating your departure by mixing up your routine—grab your keys or put on your shoes without leaving so they stop associating these cues with you walking out the door

🐕 2. Gradually increase time alone
Start with short durations and slowly build up, so they learn it’s okay to be by themselves and that you will return.

🔍 3. Know their stress signals
Pacing, panting, or whining? If you spot these, take a step back and work at their pace.

🧩 4. Provide enrichment while you’re gone
Keep them busy with puzzle toys or treat-filled KONGs to make your absence more enjoyable! Licking and chewing is also a stress relief behaviour!

🤫 5. Keep goodbyes and hellos calm
Avoid high-energy farewells or reunions. Wait for your dog to calm down before greeting them!

Consistency is key! 💡

Walking a reactive dog can feel challenging, but with patience and the right tools, progress is possible! 💪🐾 Staying calm is key—your dog can sense your energy, so try to remain relaxed and confident. Creating space when you see a trigger can help manage their reaction, and rewarding calm behavior with treats or praise reinforces the good moments. Focus work, like teaching cues such as ‘look’ or ‘touch,’ is a great way to redirect attention. Short, controlled walks can also prevent overwhelm and help build positive associations.

We know it can be tough, but you’re not alone! Every step forward is progress, and with time, your dog will grow more confident. Keep going—you’ve got this! 🌟

what to expect from our walking service!

At Hove Paws we understand that every dog is different! Whilst some dogs may love a big run in the park with friends, others may prefer and slow stroll in a quiet area. We always ensure that walks are suited to your dogs needs and temperament!

We also make sure that pup are settled down at home before leaving to relive anxiety and ensure they can have a long sleep before their owners return!

Does this sounds like a service for you and your pup? Drop us a DM to arrange a meet & greet! 🐾🐶
