Farewell Florida!
For the last 7 months, ever since Zac Loughman asked me to speak at International Herpetological Symposium on my work with Egyptian False Cobras, I have been anxiously awaiting this trip. It was an honor to speak at such a powerful conference that has shaped Herpetoculture into what it is today. Being surrounded by my fellow Herpetoculturists and renowned Herpetologists, feeling the sense of community as we navigate several days of amazing presentations, dinners, and some pretty awesome herping here in Florida. We are one special bunch of nerds, thats for sure! Thank you to everyone for all the support and a special thank you to Zac and Clint for the never-ending encouragement, you two are family. I love you guys!

This trip truely came at just the right time in my life, offering a new outlook on what my goals are within Herpetoculture as well as personal goals as I make this new shift.

It was a week to remember with many firsts; herping finds of alligators, cottonmouth, nerodia, glass lizards and more, including some invasives!

Fishing the southwest Florida waters, both freshwater and saltwater. My bucketlist Peacock Bass, Florida Largemouth, Spotted Gar, multiple Snook, Tarpon and more.

The water, heat and humidity proved to be extremely calming to me and I fell in love with Florida fast. I can't wait to be back. 🐟🌊

It wouldn't be a herping trip if we weren't getting back to the hotel at 2am 😅 After last night's International Herpetological Symposium Ice Breaker, a group of us headed out to herp/road cruise.🐊🐍🐸
The night produced 7 Veiled Chameleons, 3 Banded Water snakes, 2 Dekays, a ton of frogs/toads, screech owls, armadillo and a ton of other cool wildlife. Such a fun night!
