๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ฆ๐ก๐๐๐ฅ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ฅ๐๐๐๐๐ค "๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ง๐๐ฃ๐๐ฆ๐ค ๐๐๐๐ก๐ก๐๐ฅ๐ค"! ๐พ
We've been rather quiet since late autumn of 2024, and the reason for that is that we were very busy and preoccupied with the good and the bad.
As some of our followers might already know, our sweet boy ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ฎ๐ฌ โข ๐๐ก๐๐ง๐ง๐๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ฉ๐๐ซ ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅโ๐ฌ ๐๐๐ง๐ก๐๐ญ๐ญ๐๐ง fell very ill at the end of November โ24, and was ultimately diagnosed with Addisonโs disease.
He came out from the Addisonian crisis and thankfully recovered in time with no issues, and is now fully back to himself.
Unfortunately, he is going to be on a long-life treatment for AD.
Fast forward a few weeks later, on a positive note, he gained his final point for his Irish Junior Champion title, stepping into the ring if nothing ever happened.
We have decided to postpone his showing career for now, and heโs truly enjoying his sofa life.
As a breeder, it somehow feels like a failure as the aim is, and always should be, to breed healthy, happy dogs. I had great hopes for him, but as a responsible breeder, Iโve decided to remove him from our breeding program and plans due to his condition.
In December โ24, our ๐
๐๐ฒ โข ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ข๐ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ซ๐๐ณ started showing worrying signs of not being well. She has undergone x-rays, multiple blood tests, an MRI at specialists and was diagnosed with meningitis at Christmas time. She was very poorly and it was a very stressful time for us, but after starting treatment, she soon started showing a positive response and is now on the finish line of endless amounts of medication to manage her condition. Sheโs now fully back to herself, no signs of relapse and we are very thankful to have her walking into her 10th year this spring! โค๏ธ
๐๐ข๐ ๐ ๐ฅ๐๐ฌ โข ๐๐ก๐๐ง๐ง๐๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ง๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ started the show year of 2025 on a high note, taking three Best of Breeds at the Open shows throughout January and February, with Group-4, Group-3 and Reserve Group placements respectively, getting some pre-Crufts training before we step on the famous green carpet in Birmingham, UK in March. ๐๐ฌ๐ง
We are very excited to campaign Wiggles this year in Ireland and abroad.
Apart from show ring, Iโm happy to say that as part of building versatility in our whippets, ๐๐จ๐ฒ โข ๐๐ก๐๐ง๐ง๐๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐๐๐ฌ๐จ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ญ ๐๐ข๐ฏ๐ ๐๐ฆ๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐๐ง๐ and I participated and completed Mantrailing Introduction & L1. It was a super introductory session to the world of scent, nosework and mantrailing, and we are looking forward to continuing on this new hobby which we both enjoyed very much!
