On my way to Pleasant Hill on Friday (May 12, 2017), I saw some fury movement on the side of the road as I was traveling South on Highway 160 just before the turn to West Sherman Island Road and directly across from the equipment sheds off the levee. However, the fury little creature that was moving near the fog line had not perished yet and was standing on her own. I immediately stopped and jumpe
d out of the vehicle to grab her. She had no fear and was quickly comfortable in my hands, when we reached the Jeep she got a wife of the Lacy and hissed until she sneezed but not once after that until we reached All Animals back in Rio Vista, the nearest and most trusted vet I know of in the Delta. I handed her over to Jackie Cederlof and gave her my number. She said they had had a lot of kittens lately and I told her this one will be coming home with us. She nursed her back to health over a 36 hour period and we took her with us to visit her new and extensive family (which she has yet to meet all of) and then back up to Tahoe for next adventure in cat life. In being that her lost was her destiny to be saved by the coming and going of this world, we have decided to name her for the place from which she was brought into this world... On Sherman Island by the Roadside, bourne of the River and experiencing this creation as a Cat.
