Tomorrow is “Giving Tuesday”. But we are taking it further than one day. We are collecting items until December 7th for Romney Children’s Home.

If you are not familiar with this organization; they are located in Romney, West Virginia. Very close to us. The program is designed to accomplish two basic purposes: to meet the child’s emergent need for residential care in a safe, supportive setting and to provide a period of time for the Department of Health and Human Resources and shelter staff to assess the child’s needs and develop the most suitable plan for continued care and protection 🤗

The shelter accepts 10 children, ages 12–18. The children are mostly brought into the shelter with only the clothes they are wearing and have little to nothing else. 😪

This is a list of things that would help the kids:
Young Adult Reading Books
Arts/Craft Materials
Board games
Sketch pads
Puzzle books
Jigsaw puzzles
Card games
Hand held games like Solitaire/Yahtzee
Adult coloring books with color pencils

Additionally they can use the following personal items:
Hygiene items: liquid body soap (no bar soap), toothpaste, tooth brush/holder, hairbrushes, shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, razors
Clothing: socks, underwear, bras, sweat pants/shirts, sneakers. (All young adult sizes)
Small suitcases and / or duffel bags (these can be gently used that you may no longer need)

Shelter Operation items that they always need:
Clorox wipes
cleaning supplies
towels/wash cloths
twin bed sheets
laundry detergent
dryer sheets

If you can donate any of these items, please message us and we will arrange to pick the items up or schedule a time when you can drop the items off. We would also welcome Walmart and/or Amazon gift cards that we could use to purchase items that are needed 💳

If you’d like to drop ship items directly to us for the home, PM us and we will give you the address ✈️ 🛻

🙏🏻 If you don’t live close by, please consider mailing us a gift card and we will shop for you, or shop any online retailer and simply have the items shipped to us. 🎄🎁💚❤️
