All About Me
Hello Human! My full name is Boomer the One-Eyed Wonder Dog, but you can call me Booms, Boomie, Goofy Goober or The Goobs for short. It is true that I'm missing an eye and all, but I am so much more than just a fantastic pirate dog. Let me tell you a little bit about myself: I love people and am a true “best buddy” dog. I love to play with people, cuddle with people and just generally be around people. My favorite things include sleeping in bed with my people, sleeping in late with my people, binge-watching Netflix with my people and snuggling with my people. Speaking of my people, I currently live with a couple of nice foster parents, but I know they aren’t my real parents and I’m on the hunt for a more permanent situation. Could you be my new mom or dad?
I’m pretty low energy, but love chew toys (especially when they’re filled with peanut butter and treats) and appreciate a few rousing rounds of fetch every now and then. Except for when it is raining. Or snowing. Or cold outside. If you're looking for an extreme adventure kind of guy, you might want to keep scrolling; I’m more of a fair weather gentleman. You know what they say: snow days are for staying in and snuggling!
You might be wondering how an amazing creature such as myself ended up needing a home. All I can tell you is that I was tied up in front of a Chinese restaurant in North Philly when the nice folks from ACCT Philly came to pick me up in their sweet ride. Did I mention that I’m really good in the car? So anyway, after I was at ACCT for a few days, they told me my bum eye needed to come out. This was news to me, but the doctor seemed skilled and I got the Obamacare, so I said why not. So now I’m what they call a “special needs” dog being that I only have one eye and all. But to be honest, other than occasionally bumping into things on walks and missing the ball when it’s not thrown on my good side, being a one-eyed wonder just serves to make me that much more adorable.
They tell me I’m about 6 years old, current on my vaccines and neutered. We think I’d do best in a home with no kitties and no other dogs or small children, as I’m kind of a big goofy goober who doesn’t always know my own strength. I'm very sweet and good natured though, so dog savvy kids might be ok. My basic needs include a securely fenced yard and a parent who is not gone all day. I would reallllllly love a home where I am allowed to sleep in bed with the humans; I promise not to hog all the covers. If you are serious about meeting your next best friend and you appreciate a good afternoon nap as much as I do, then contact my foster mom ([email protected]) so we can set something up real soon.
