I'm sorry to say that we won't be taking anymore honey bee swarms from Farmington. Since the city is spraying poison for mosquitoes we can't take the risk of bringing it to our apiary. If a swarm comes in carrying poison, it can be spread to other hives and can contaminate our equipment.
We are sorry that we can't help everyone, but it's not worth the risk to our established hives.

Some things about bee keeping aren't as fun. I got stung on the temple and the chin yesterday and this is the result.
I have 1 big jar of honey and 1 small jar left to sell. This is raw, wild, comb honey. There is was and probably a few bee parts in it and pieces of pollen. This is the best for allergies. $18 and $14.

This is one of my favorite sound. Right up there with new born baby cry.

Another successful swarm catch. We brought home most of the swarm. We left a box for the stragglers to climb into and I'll pick it up in the morning. Thanks Shelly Ailworth for coordinating for me.

Today we caught our first swarm! Kristin Wadlow found them and we went to get them.

These are the bees we brought home yesterday. We put them in the hives yesterday around 5pm. Today they are already bringing in pollen to feed the babies. If you look close you can see the nectar sacks under some of their necks. They are also full. These girls got right to work. I'm so proud of them.

The girls survived the cold and are out flying on the warm days. If they survived the - temps. I'm sure they will be ok for the rest of the winter.

Juan is cruising the living room, playing with Ryder and Luna 🐇❤️🐰
