Calling all crusty dog lovers!! 😍🥰😘

Meet Granny! Granny is a calm and loving old lady who looking for a calm home to spend the rest of her life in. This sweet old girl came to us after animal control picked her up as a stray. Granny needed some special medical care after her arrival but that has been completed and she is feeling much better now.

Granny did have to take a trip to the ophthamologist to diagnose and put a treatment plan together for her eyes. Her right eye had no tear production and severe corneal disease on top of having dry eye. Due to the condition her right eye was in, we did have that removed. Her left eye is somewhat visual and has a mild dry eye diagnosis - her left eye will need Optimmune eye oitment twice a day for the rest of her life. We believe she can see things when they are up close but that becomes more difficult when it is further away.

Granny is currently living a life of luxury in her foster home, her foster cannot keep her long term so we are hoping to find her a forever home before she has to come back to our facility. Granny sometimes gets "lost" inside the home and while she is out in the yard due to her poor vision and lack of hearing. She has not been BAER tested but Granny does appear to be deaf. Granny's foster reports that she wastes no time finding cozy places to snuggle up and rest on. She has a deep love for her people and once she gets to know you, she will give you all the kisses and follow closely.

Like many senior dogs, Granny isn't the best eater. Her foster has found a small breed kibble that she likes and gives her 24/7 access to it. Granny is missing majority of her teeth so she does get canned food twice a day as well. Her foster did recently learn that she also loves rotissere chicken and sometimes gives her a couple bites for being so adorable! Despite her picky eating habits, Granny seems to be thriving and her foster is happy to accommodate her to ensure she stays healthy and happy in her golden years.
