Here’s my Story ....
I was dumped in a Long Island shelter by my owner and was VERY unhappy. I was nervous and unsure of my new environment but also very sweet and happy to meet new friends. I am a big boy with a big head and an even bigger heart. 💙
My shelter mommy knew she had to get me out so I could learn to behave like a gentleman and so after 2 YEARS living in a cage, I made my way to CT to her friend Jen. I have been working on my manners and behaving around other animals as well as getting lots of love and play time (my FAVORITE activity) 😁
I am ready for a home and ready to find my new family. I need someone who understands dog behavior and how to handle a big boy like me. A family with land for me to run on and who will give me the extra time I need to succeed. I am super smart, super handsome and LOVE people. I also love learning and am eager to please ... especially for peanut butter!
I live with my wonderful boarding /trainer in Connecticut. I have been working on being the best boy I can be and now I’m READY for a family🤗

Scarlet needs a hero❤
Scarlet came to us with a severely embedded harness that led to a nasty infection. She is recovering beautifully but the stress of the shelter is really starting to get to her. Scarlet has endured so much trauma she deserves to be spoiled rotten for the rest of her days. Scarlet would do best as the only pet in the home. She doesn't seem to like other dogs. HELP SENIOR TIA! A confident Yorkie mix who is 12 years old! She spent all her life with a family and is fully trained. Unfortunately, she was left at the shelter when they could not take care of her any longer.
Tia is not as active as a little puppy but still loves to play and show her affection. On top of this, she is very healthy and will be perfect for a single household with no kids or other animals.

Koko gave birth, her puppies were sold by her owner and she was dragged to the shelter where she is petrified. She has been blasted over and over for help and nothing. Volunteers are begging! Shelter Bio:
Guys, we need to see this sweetie named G5 in a loving home, and need your help. This sweet boy has been through the ringer, and deserves a loving family to love and respect him. Sadly, G5 originally came into the shelter as a stray in 2017. His owner reclaimed, only to turn up in April 2021 in an abandoned house with squatters. No one claimed to know the owner, and it's unclear if anyone was even caring for him. He was found in a crate, with no food or water, and not even a blanket to lay on. Understandably, once at the shelter, G5 was a little unsure of his new environment, but quickly realized we are here to take care of him and show him love he probably was never given. G5 is friendly meeting people, loves to play in the yard, and seems really smart, and eager to learn. Which is very good because it's clear he doesn't know much - probably never having lived in a home, never walked on leash, never house trained, never taught commands. It's so sad because he is 8 years old already, and has so much to learn and experience. G5's ideal home is going to be with patient and savvy owners, kids 17 and older, and no other animals. Yes, we know it is a hard sell, but we need to set G5 up for massive success in the next chapter of his life, he deserves it.

The longest resident of Babylon Animal Shelter needs our help!!!! SANDY arrived August 29, 2019 after being rescued from a neglectful situation, she was also HW positive but that’s been taken care of. Sandy is a volunteer favorite but because of her past she can be nervous with new people and situations. Sandy will need someone who understands this and can help her learn to trust more.

*about 45 lbs
*needs a home with No Other Pets!!
*Best with older kids
*Fenced yard for her to play would be nice
*Multiple meet and greets will be required
*Adoption fee is covered
*We have a rescue willing to help so a foster to adopt is an option

This was the first time I saw Penny.... the Helping Paw Project got her to me!! She has been with me over 2 years now!
Why doesn’t anyone want me? I was rescued from Louisiana when a hurricane hit .My puppies have been adopted and after a year at the rescue I’m still waiting. I only weigh 24 lbs and at 2 1/2 years old I am fully grown and housebroken.
I don’t ask for much but do love sitting in someone’s lap when invited, being picked up to snuggle and taking walks. My name is Tierra and I hope someone wants me; I’m truly a good girl.
Today marks 500 days in the shelter for G5 😔💔🐾
Some dogs can tolerate the shelter environment better than others, and unfortunately it hasn’t been an easy road for G. The stress of being here has affected his physical and mental state. His weight has fluctuated (luckily he’s at a healthy weight again) and his paws are generally raw and swollen from him chewing on them. The staff and volunteers do everything they can to make him happy and comfortable, but a shelter is not a home. We need to help this boy find a permanent place to rest his head. Somewhere he can feel safe and at peace. He’s 8 1/2 years old and has yet to experience a loving home. Let’s help change that!

Beautiful Bella the lab mix needs a home.
Bella is about three years old and is here because her former owners could no longer care for their pets. They would never have given her up otherwise. Nothing but good was said about her.
Bella is a good size maybe 50 lbs and has a lot of Lab energy. She needs a home where she can exercise in a fenced in yard or go hiking with an athletic person !

Ira is one mellow dude! He comes when called & knows the situation command. (treat motivated). This guy loves attention & pets. He just melts everyone’s heart! He has had a rough life & it's visible however he wags his tail & enjoys any kind of love & attention coming he's way. Ira weighs about 52 lbs & even so, we would describe him as Skinny has gained a little bit of weight since being at shelter.
