Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table at the Phoenix Reptile Expo a few weeks ago - we were successful in rehoming all of our isopod colonies and quite a few geckos! We appreciate it so much. 💕

After over a decade of keeping, feeding, and breeding Crested Geckos, we’ve decided to take a step back and greatly reduce our reptile collection. Unfortunately, sometimes hobbies run their course.

Our plan is keep our Leachies, Chewies, two Leos, the Day Gecko pair, and a few Cresteds. We also kept back about 20 isopod colonies.
We hope to have some uncommon isopods, Leachies, and Chahouas available periodically, but don’t intend to vend for the foreseeable future.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out for care advice, to share pictures, or just to chat - interacting with everyone has been the best part of this journey and that doesn’t need to end!

Ready to try your luck?

We’ll be vending the Phoenix Reptile Expo this weekend and would love to see you! Come get yourself a stunning gecko, cool new isopod culture, or test your luck with some Isopod Kuji! Our partner in crime, Sonoran Exotics will be joining us again as well! 🥰

Our table will feature:
- a variety of Chahoua and Crested Geckos, including Lily Whites
- Isopod Kuji (“Mystery cups”!) with 13 potential outcomes
- a dozen different types of isopod cultures
- springtails!
- Pangea in all flavors
- Chad avoiding people even though he knows a lot more about geckos than he thinks

And much much more! (Plus I’ve been told we’re pretty cool to talk to?)

Wasn’t expecting a double surprise this morning!

Fresh LW out of Gravity x Windsor and a Chewie baby that’s been incubating for 20 weeks!

They had a little too much fun last night and rolled almost every egg in my incubator. Thanks guys.

Happy Hatch Day to our newest member: Hiro!

Hiro arrived yesterday from Arboreals Anonymous as the future boyfriend of our in-house-produced Pine Island girl, Virtue.

They’re both still young, but we hope to pair them next winter (growth and temperament willing!) in preparation for the 2023 season 🙂

Hiro arrived in shed, but had his costume taken care of within a few hours ;)

Happy Monday!
We’ve spent some time the last two weekends doing some small changes to our gecko room.

The goal is to get all of our breeding or pet adults into bioactive setups with options to expand with temporary hatchling and grow out bins as needed.

Our first hatchlings of the season are here and they’re FIERCE!! I cannot begin to tell you how excited we are by their arrival 🥰🥰

I’m pleased to introduce “Gojo” and “Veto”, the first step in our Herkimer’s Legacy Project (actual title pending).

Both are LWs and will be hold backs for the time being.

We had an exciting dinner last night!
I bought a very ripe watermelon, which made an amazing base for Pangea - the geckos’ enthusiasm was hard to ignore!

We’ve had a really great season so far and will be looking forward to our first hatchlings any day now. Please stay tuned! :)

It’s that time of year again... six months of summer, coming up! 😎

A friendly reminder: If you live in a climate that regularly has super hot temps and want to keep temperature-sensitive critters (like New Caledonian geckos!) it’s absolutely critical you’re able to keep them cool. Heck, even if there’s just a chance of warm temps... have a plan!

That might mean running an extra AC in one room to keep it under 80F or having your electricity bill triple in the summer. Your gecko doesn’t care about your budget or that your roommate doesn’t want the thermostat below 90 during the day when no one is home - heat can and will kill your pet.

I will always be straight with prospective buyers, especially my fellow AZ-dwellers: if you can’t be sure you can keep your home cool enough, then Cresteds aren’t the right pet for you. Luckily there are tons of heat-loving reptiles that may be a better fit, so don’t fret! 🙂
