As part of a tiny litter of three, "Bones" is an orphan kitten that is being raised in Sacramento with his two brothers. The trio was named "Kirk," "Spock" and "McCoy" after three very famous characters off of Star Trek. Any real "Trekkie" knows McCoy's nickname on the show was "Bones" - so everyone ended up calling him "Bones" McCoy. After finding out he had mandibular issues - his doctors starte
d calling him "Broken Bones" McCoy. From Bones:
I am the sweetest kitten around and I'm perfect in almost every way possible. I play with my siblings, I bound around like a playful kitten should and I love to snuggle with anything and everything. However, I do have a slight imperfection. So what is wrong with me, you ask? I've been told that I have a mandibular malocclusion with a malunion of my left mandibular ramus and zygomatic arch. In other words, my bottom jaw did not work properly and I needed a surgey called a "mandibulectomy" to fix me. My bottom jaw is now too short for the top and it's really crooked (gangsta leaning to the left side), so my tongue always sticks out and I now have a "perfect" crooked smile now! Thank you so much from all of us at Team Bones!!!
