UPDATE on my leg post op…The last three days I dealt with a lot of swelling and pain in the muscles and couldn’t quite understand why day 9 to 12 would be more painful than the first week. The advice to just take more pain medicine it didn’t give me the answer I was looking for, so I was praying about it and thinking about it and then, it dropped right into my head… It was lactic acid buildup in the muscles after the trauma and perhaps a little overdoing my walking. So I started drinking baking soda last night… Sodium bicarbonate which is an alkaline agent to neutralize the acid and it has helped. The swelling has gone down this morning and the muscles are not as severely tender.
I am icing it often through the day.
