Yukon of TPBP Yukon was saved by TPBP at 6 months old from euthanasia out of California. Hard beginnings led him to be extremely scared and it was tough to gain his trust.

He has made amazing progress, now so loving and playful, but is still adoptable after 4 years.

Did you see my cover photo? It’s true. I have been adoptable at The Pit Bull Pen rescue since I was just 6 months old. They saved me from euthanasia when I ended up at the wrong place, at the wrong time. You see, shelters everywhere were jam packed with pups like me, and my life was to be cut short to make room for others. When the nice people at TPBP heard that, they knew they had to intervene! I was saved that day, and looked forward to coming to Washington to find my forever home, once and for all.

I arrived in Washington and was adopted soon after… YAY! But soon, things started to change. I became scared, terrified of just about everything. My fear led to reactivity, and reactivity had me returned by my new family, back to the rescue. But the nice people at TPBP gave me time and space to decompress and settle back in. I didn’t want to be touched, loved on, or taught new tricks for a long time. But one day, I saw another dog at the rescue and something lit up within me. Suddenly, I wanted to PLAY! I wanted to RUN! I wanted to be PET and LOVED! Finally! 🩵

Now, at 4 years old, nearly all of my life has been spent either in shelter or rescue. WHY?! You must be thinking, I must be a bad boy… Not easily adoptable. But that is just so far from the truth.👇🏼

✅I am SO loving, and think I’m a lap dog!
✅I absolutely LOVE to play! You will catch me running through the grass after a ball with my tongue hanging out!
✅I am cute as heck! I mean seriously, just look at me in my party hat being so dapper and cute! Do you know any other dog that wears party hats willingly? I didn’t think so! 🤪
✅I am neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and ready to be FOSTERED or ADOPTED today. Yes, like, RIGHT NOW! 😁

I am Yukie, and I was given a second chance at life. Help me truly live it! 🩵
