Today we had Lola in for a full assessment including static, dynamic, range of motion, palpation and neurological assessments
Using the information from these assessments we put together a treatment plan:

For Lola today she had laser to help with any pain and trigger points within the thoracic spine. She also had some massage to reduce some hyper trophy in her hindlimb along with some pole work to improve ROM and proprioceptive feedback 🦮

She was the best girl and especially loved laser 🥰🥰

🐴 Rock Tape
In April during futures week, we were given the opportunity to take part in a rock taping course. The course began by explaining the benefits and different uses for rock taping. Different taping techniques were then demonstrated for both humans and horses. We were also each given some sample tape to practise different methods and also given some to take home

Benefits of rock taping include:
> Postural Correction
> Adds Support/Stability
> Pain relief
> Improving proprioceptive feedback

🌊 Hydrotherapy
At Moreton Morrell College, we are very privileged as students to have access to both canine and equine underwater treadmill and canine pool

Throughout the year we have had many demonstrations and lectures about the benefits of hydrotherapy and even had multiple opportunities to get hands on during hydrotherapy demonstrations

Some benefits of hydrotherapy include:
> Increasing range of motion
> Improving mobility and balance
> Improving cardiovascular health and endurance
> Increase strength
> Weight management
