dogs in the home as part of the family. Because Scout and all his siblings were stray or abandoned animals, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of Scout Dog collars goes to support local rescue organizations.

A cornerstone value of Scout Dog is giving to organizations that provide much needed support to animals and pet owners in need, and those that work tirelessly to find homes for displaced animals. In 2023, Scout Dog donated proceeds from the sales of collars to The Proper Pit Bull, the Great Pyrenees Club of Western PA, Frankie's Friends, Not One More Vet, Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh, The Cannoli Fund, Animal Advocates, and the Animal Defense League of Texas. On this Giving Tuesday, please remember to support your local shelter or rescue. They do such meaningful and important work, and in the process change our lives for the better. This is my Gracie's official shelter photo from 2007. Who knew that adopting skinny, scared little girl would become one of the best decisions I ever made? Some real Back to School vibes headed to New Hampshire this week!

Scout left us Wednesday morning. He left exactly the way I'd like to, eating a peanut butter cup in the sunshine. We had a beautiful few days together to prepare for this, but as it turns out 15 years, four months, and one day is just not enough time together. Still, I am grateful for every minute of it.

He leaves a legacy shared by thousands of dogs across the country, through the collars that bear his name and through the funds donated to local rescue from their sale.

Scout May 15 2007 - November 9 2022. The dog that changed my entire world.
