Just a short post for now to let everyone know that Ruth's Pet Services will be shutting shop permanently on Friday 13th September.

It's a sad post in many ways as I absolutely love what I do and am so lucky with my wonderful customers and amazing pets but an opportunity for a new and exciting job came along and I was successful. As I'm sure you can imagine, I'll still be working with dogs though!

Although I'm going to be incredibly sad to part with the dogs and cats I love so much, I'm also looking forward to a new chapter in my life. Thank you to my lovely customers for their kind comments today at the news, you're the best!!

We had a lovely morning with this beautiful trio! Firstly Oscar had his walk and met even more pals and was so incredibly good. Then we mixed Daisy and Bella again and both girls were beautifully behaved! I'm so proud!

Here we have our Wednesday crew with a little shake up!! We've had Oscar who insisted on saying hi to everyone he met! Then Bella who was full of smiles! And instead of Ted, we had Ralph to mix with one of his favourite girlfriends, Daisy!!

Today is another special day!!! It's our one and only, Solo Bolo's gotcha day!! I'm lucky to have this little furry nephew in my life outside of work too, he's such a silly, sweet thing. We love you Solo!!

We had fun with one of our favourite vet nurses this evening. She asked if we wanted to see what we had spent there since we had the dogs (9 years). I said no...so she wrote it on a piece of paper and put it in an envelope. We laughed and laughed and I tried to restrain myself but I just couldn't 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

Needless to say, if anyone out there is thinking of getting a dog, WITHOUT pet insurance, please DON'T DO IT!! 🐾🤣🤑 It's honestly, 100% worth it!!!

A very quiet day today, we've just had Oscar this morning who was such a good boy. We're missing our other dachshund pals Wilma and Mildred today. And this afternoon is too hot for our friends Rambo, Storm and Ted 🥵😔

Going to miss these guys so so much!! Ghost and Summer were so happy to see their southern pals!! Amazing dogs with amazing parents giving them the best second chance to all three!! Rescue is so rewarding! Love you Teddy, Hazy and Lottie 🩵🩷🩵

Another day of morning walks only, it's just too hot in the afternoons. Oscar had a lovely shaded walk under the trees, he's so happy to see me now and has settled into his walks beautifully. Then we had Bella with her latest pal Mabel, we managed a walk in the woods and got back just before it got too hot. We're missing our pals Ted and Daisy today! 🥵

Fyi, for any new customers, I only have family / friends dogs staying over, I don't do dog boarding anymore I'm sorry. I know so many of you are looking.

Just a morning walk again today as it's so flipping hot. We managed to get around in some shade and with plenty of water this morning with Wilma, Mildred and Daisy, joined by their pal Mabel. And for the rest of the day, Solo is camped out under my dining table (not in jail as the photo appears 🤣) with a fan on him, fast asleep!! 🩷

Just one walk today, it's just been too warm! Here we have Wilma, Mildred and Ralph, joined by their pal Mabel. We managed a stroll in some shade with plenty of water breaks.

Hi all. Please be prepared for changes to walks this week due to the hot weather we are expecting. I'll do my best to find shade but anything over 21° worries me for your dogs safety and comfort. We'll take each day as it comes

Puppy play dates again today!!! First up we had little Oscar who was just a gem! Then we mixed Bella and Mabel again and then Daisy and Mabel!! Lots of fun playing and acting silly, alongside some lovely walking.

That's the end of our very warm Thursday! I know Buzz and Bruce have had a nice day in the garden. Oscar had a lovely little stroll in the shade. Wilma and Mildred had fun meeting Woody again. Ted liked spending time under his bush. Rambo and Storm had a little break in their garden and finally I was back to the boys for their supper.

Wowsers!!! It's summer again!! Quick, get out the sunscreen!! Today we've had a delightful bunch! Starting with Buzz and Bruce, then Oscar, Bella and Ted and finally the boys again!! 🥰🐕🐾🐈

We've had an early start today and managed a walk with Ralph and Daisy. Both behaved well as always, they are forming a lovely friendship. Tomorrow will be the same, early walks and home visits! Thank you

Big hugs to our lovely Ruby who has had her dewclaw removed today and is on house arrest for a week. She's feeling very sorry for herself, understandably. Get well soon Ruby!!

I hate to mention Christmas so early but I am planning on taking the 27th, 28th & 29th December off. I wanted to give as much notice as possible. I'll be checking with you all individually over the next couple of weeks too.

Here's a little video of our lovely old boy Murphy!! He does so well even with his arthritis! His mum takes him for his regular Librella and physio and it's making a big difference! Well done Murphy!

Bella's had fun on the long line today (with Dad's permission). She's run her little legs off!

We now have a lunchtime spot available each day, a mixture of half and full hours (depending on the day,). If you, or anyone you know needs their dog walking or their dog or cat checking on during the day, please get in touch! LS14 or close surrounding areas only. Priority will be given to current customers but we would love to welcome a new pooch to the team! Don't hang around, this won't be available for long!

Had to share this video of Wilma playing with the toy I lent her today. She's a clever thing and got all the treats so quickly. Games like this and simple snuffle mats are great in weather like this when you just need to keep them entertained and get their brains working.
