Veterinary Mobility Center is officially 3 years old.
But, my dream of becoming a rehab vet began a long while ago and people often ask me how I got to the stage of my career that I am now in.
In the first few months of 2022, we are scheduled to teach and mentor 2 fourth year veterinary students in their rehab externships, 2 veterinary technicians and 1 vet completing her CCRP internship. We have grown quickly and I often feel the need to step back and consider, revel in how a simple dream grew into something so much bigger.
For the many clients that read this, you will recall my writing details in great detail. You were alongside me the entire way and encouraged me throughout. In fact, I am getting teary eyed just thinking of you all.
Veterinary medicine is a difficult career to be in. There are numerous posts, articles and links to the mental challenges and difficulty of this career. At this current time, our Canadian Veterinary Association is creating strategies to deal with the veterinary shortage and struggles that plague our profession.
All this being said, I love being a vet. I love owning my dream clinic where my possibilities are endless and where colleagues come to share the goal of bettering themselves. Together, we can and do achieve great things.
How did I get here? Can one truly balance following their career goals with having a family and everything in between?
I say you can.
