I’ve been doing a lot of revamping in my FibroCana pen. This is an extremely handsome head rooster prospect I’ve kept back- Black FibroCana. He’s got a lot going for him. Perfect face muffs, amazing fibro melanistic coloration and structure that is to die for! I’m really excited to see next years fibro babies. We all know how hard it is collecting eggs at the end of a long day. Half the time I’ve got eggs sticking out of my pockets or I’ve got a dress folded up to carry as many as I can. Not anymore 🐣

PIGLET VOLUNTEER NEEDED❤️

We are excited to announce that we are seeking another volunteer to help out with our mini piglets when they arrive.
Volunteer would be helping socialize piglets aka snuggling and cuddling baby mini pigs.
Our ideal candidate would…
🐷 Must love pigs
🐷 Must be willing to travel to our farm in Paw Paw 1-2x weekly
🐷 Must be confident with animal handling
🐷 Prefer someone with veterinary experience but I am willing to train the right pig lover
🐷Must be over 18 years old or be accompanied by an adult
🐷 Must be ok with getting down & dirty

Silkie Sunday💜💜💜

Paint pen #1 got some grass time while we organized, and deep cleaned the silkie barn! A handful of these beauties are spring pullets that have begun to lay. I can sit and watch these pretty birds all day.

It’s the rabbits for me 🙂

English Lops stole my heart many years ago. I always say, if I had to only keep one animal on this farm it would hands down be my lops. The quietness, simplicity, and sweet nature of the English Lop just calms me daily. They are great emotional support animals. Once they stole my heart I realized just how interesting they are- the scientist (geneticist) side of me enjoys them even more. I think the genetics is what truly keeps me addicted to my buns- pairing certain rabbits with hopes of certain genetic outcomes. Watching ear length in winter vs summer. Comparing types of each generation I create in my barn. It’s all so fascinating- and never bores me.
They are by far the most intensive animal for care and daily maintenance- but they are all worth it. We are super excited for a new rabbitry upgrade coming next month🙌🏼

Happy Monday from worlds best barn kitty- King Darby 🙏🏽

Brought to our farm when he was 24 hours old and never left. Son to Pumpkin our other barn kitty. Groomed for the barn life since a youngster. He keeps our barn critter free. He is such an outstanding kitty, he somehow understands the difference between “wild” animals and our animals. He’s never hurt a chick, baby bunny or baby pig. But let him catch wind of a wild rabbit, bird or critter- they are doomed!!
