Hi everyone! I know I haven’t posted for a while but I need to pop in with something important ❤️

My beautiful friend Kel, her partner Andrew, and their kids Noah, Evie and Teddy have lost everything in a house fire last Friday. A lifetime of memories and belongings completely destroyed. Whilst they are insured, the increase in the cost of everything means that there’s probably only just enough to demolish the ruins and rebuild the house. Kel has been an absolute rock for me throughout my difficult pregnancy and postpartum. Always there to chat, and offer advice and support, never arriving for a visit without food and spoiling my little man rotten. Shes one of the kindest, caring and most generous people I’ve ever met. She’s not just a friend to me, she’s a sister and our friendship means the world to me.

We’re over the moon to announce the arrival of our son, Domenic Angelo Madafferi, born 11th January 2024 at 9:19am and weighing 3840grams and 53cm long. We are so proud to have named him in honour of Tony’s Mum and Dad. We are completely infatuated with him and our hearts are bursting with so much love for this tiny little man 🩵 welcome to the world Domenic, your mummy and daddy prayed for you for so long and you’re our greatest blessing 🌈🤍

These short-style appointments are $90, they include a bath, blowdry, short clip, cute face, trimmed ears/tail, and a nail trim. See photos for examples 🐶

Hi friends! I was bitten quite badly on Wednesday by a little doggo, under doctors orders I can’t groom for 7 days, I’ll be in touch with everyone booked in to reschedule. This little mishap will also effect those of you who book as you need it because I have limited appointments available as it is, most of the openings I have for the next two weeks will be taken up by my reschedules.

Actually me right now 😅 only I’ve been “back at work” for nearly two weeks now and still feel completely upside down 🙃

I’ve just sat down and scheduled my availability into my diary from now until the 15th April (when I go on leave to get married 👰‍♀️!)

I’m going to go through now and contact everyone I saw before Christmas who I haven’t rebooked to get your doggos in 🥰

Because I’m so busy with wedding stuff, medical appointments and grooming dogs, my brain won’t keep up with messages on top of my extensive to-do list for the next 3 months. I strongly suggest booking at least your next two appointments to see you through until I come back from wedding leave in May 🤍☺️

Unfortunately I’ve had a medication change that is kicking my backside with dizziness and fatigue as side effects, so if you’re waiting for a reply from me, please know I’m doing my best to get back to you but my body has different ideas right now 🤍 everyone with an appointment this week will be unaffected as I’m saving much of my energy to serve you. This week, groomers all over the country are preparing for the busiest week of the year. Your groomer will have been working extra hours since the beginning of the month at least to fit as many of their valued clients in for their festive hair ’dos as they humanly can.

Humanly. This is an important word here, and something that everyone needs to consider. A groomer does not have a machine that they put a dog into one end and it comes out the other end perfectly floofed and smelling gorgeous. This work is done with human hands, human hearts and human abilities.

When I was working full time I groomed a minimum of six dogs per day, five days per week. That's 30 dogs a week. Let's assume all of them were on a six-weekly schedule. This creates a client list of 180 dogs over the six weekly period. Every single one of those dogs owners needed a Christmas appointment. There is no magic that creates extra hours in the fortnight leading up to the 25th of December, so your groomer is s**t outta luck in the miracle department and they suddenly have triple the amount of dogs booked in.

What sort of Christmas magic can you gift your groomer while they're battling through the madness of the festive season? Here are a few ideas that will cost you very little:

1. PATIENCE: Your groomer may need your dog to stay in the salon for a longer period of time than usually allocated for. They've probably hired extra staff, bathers, assistants, receptionists to serve as many clients as possible and working with living creatures requires a certain amount of flexibility with time. Don't give your groomer a hard time because fluffy won't be ready in an hour like you thought they would be.

2. KINDNESS: Your groomer is hot, sweaty, tired, hungry, needs to p*e or a combination of all of the above. There's likely to be a matted mess snuck into the daily bookings, the phone won't stop ringing and the dog on their table has just remembered they were Cujo in a past life. The last thing this groomer needs is any nastiness from a client. Just be nice ❤️

3. PERSPECTIVE: We all love a freshly groomed doggo at Christmas time, especially if they're going to be hanging around the Christmas table. But if you've left it too late to book them in, it's not the end of the world. Your dog won't care, Xmas lunch will still go ahead as planned and life will continue as normal until you can get your dog a booking in the new year. Don't be like one of my friend's salon ”clients” who got her nose out of joint last week when she couldn't book her large, hairy dog in for a Christmas appointment, despite everyone being told from September that they should book their festive season appointments in advance to avoid disappointment. She decided to write a s**tty review online about it instead of learning her lesson and knowing that she'll need to book more than a week out from Christmas. Don't be like her, that sort of behaviour sucks.


Finally, if you're noticing your groomer is low in the Christmas spirit, plenty of good top-ups are available in the Wine aisle. Chocolate, cookies, coffee and doughnuts are also acceptable too 😉

I’m booking out very fast for the rest of the year so I strongly suggest you book your appointments for the rest of the year, many of you who are on monthly schedules will fit two more grooms in before Santa comes to town! I’ve opened up extra December availability because I know how much we all love our pooches looking gorgeous for the festive season and then I will be on holiday leave from 24th Dec reopening on Monday 9th January.

I’m currently taking a few days rest after having my annual nerve block injections into my Occipital Nerves on Tuesday, so while I’m on the couch binge watching American Horror Story and taking naps please feel free to message me and I’ll make your bookings in between 🥰🥰🥰
