We are Maria Eirini (Mind the Cat) and Andrea (Señor Gato), feline professionals based in Amsterdam who want to help even more.

We want to support a group of Thassos islanders ( ) committed to alleviating the suffering of stray cats. With vets only on the island for the last 15 years, animal care and sterilization are not yet part of the local culture, and cats are seen mainly for pest control.

The main focus is sterilization and winter feeding stations. In the off-season, entire villages close, leaving cats who relied on tourists for food to starve, with autumn-born kittens not surviving. Their feeding stations help them feed nearly 300 cats daily, costing around 600 euros per month, and identify cats for sterilization.

Since November 2023, they've sterilized 194 cats, and they are working as quickly as possible with two local vets. There is a significant reduction in kittens in Golden Beach and are now focusing on Panagia and Skala Potamia villages.

They are dedicated to this cause, but there is need for support to continue. Every donation helps to reach more cats,

I can proudly say that the hooman is now a certified cat sitter!! She just can't stop learning, so she took this ameozing course with , and together with her colleagues (and now friends) and they got to delve deeper into relevant concepts and practices for providing kitties with a much better care: Always with a Feline centric approach!

I'm proud of her, so I may promote her to Professional cat sitter (still considering raising her salary, though 🤔)! ~Salomón, the boss.

Only one week left! Come and visit me at Dierenambulance Amsterdam 's open day next Sunday, 1 September from 12:00 to 16:00. I'll be there with my amazing cat-sitting collective Cat Sitters of Amsterdam promoting professional cat care for better cat welfare and our community to other sitters who want to join. So my magnificent whiskers and me turned 12 this week 🥳 happy birthday to me!
I have spent 11.8 years of my life with these hoomans who love me so much! It is crazy how time flies, I'm still a kitten! Let the celebration weekend begin!
