ADOPTED
Good Morning!
This Tuesday we are hitting our share buttons for Gracie. She's still available for adoption!
What a marvelous gal Gracie sounds like! She is 8 years old and weighs about 85 pounds. Gracie is a black lab mix with one white foot and a white mark that looks like a star on her chest We are told that Gracie "loves every person she meets, she is a very sweet dog."
Gracie has lived with other dogs and is fine with those who are more like her-mature and mellow. Gracie does not appreciate puppy or young dog energy. She cannot live with cats. While she's never lived in a home with kids, she has been good with respectful children who have come to visit her home or when she has gone to visit them in their home.
Gracie has loved the days her human works from home. She has done very well going to work with her human. After a little exploration of where she was, we are told she settled right in at her human's feet at their desk while they worked. What a good girl! On the days Gracie needs to stay home alone she has done so without issue. She sounds like a very go-with-the-flow dog! Gracie can manage quite a few hours between potty breaks when she has to. Gracie is said to be a quiet dog who rarely barks.
Walking Gracie sounds like it would be very enjoyable. She is good on leash. Gracie follows some basic commands, she is treat motivated and she wants to please her people. Gracie loves tennis balls, her toys and playing fetch. When it's sunny out Gracie enjoys laying in the yard, taking all of the sights, sounds and smells in. Gracie will swim but she is not a strong swimmer. She will swim a short distance if you throw a stick in the water. Her person tells us Gracie has a life vest but she is not fond of wearing it.
No one has observed Gracie taking stairs. At this time we are told Gracie appears not to have any arthritis or mobility issues. This could change with age (as it does for most of us) so one would want to be prepared if you live in a home where Gracie would have many stairs to climb. This awesome girl should not lose her home because she became unable to climb stairs!
Gracie does receive an allergy shot in the summer for seasonal allergies. Her people state she has been allergy test, she has no food allergies. As with every adoption, one should be able to manage the continuation of veterinary care to give Gracie her most comfortable, healthy life.
If you are familiar with older labs (and mixes) and how wonderful they are, you will appreciate all that Gracie has to offer! Someone is going to be quite fortunate to make Gracie a part of their family.
Gracie is located in Ferndale, WA. For contact information please email: [email protected]
This is a courtesy post. Gracie is not an Old Dog Haven dog. Old Dog Haven has not assessed this dog for medical issues and will not be responsible for medical care after adoption. We urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
