The School Where Mules Rule!
Welcome to Mule Academy! We are so glad you are visiting with us. Joann McBride and myself (Laurie Wilson) are two Mule Girls who decided to launch a central platform where we can help inspire other mule owners. Our two mules, Toby Jack and Jolene have been our star students along the way and have taught us so much about how to effectively motivate mule brains and personalities! The first rule in our program is to have FUN! We think learning should be fun and be filled with lots of variety. Joann & I combine trick training, ground driving, dressage, obstacles, Garrocha pole, soccer, cow sorting and more to keep our mule students engaged and balanced (mentally & physically). In the Mule Academy, we use positive rewards to keep our mules motivated and excited about their work. We are able to use lots of treats in our program because the teacher/student relationship is well established and the rewards are issued at the right time for the right behavior. Our goal in creating the Mule Academy is to provide easy, online access to lots of tips, tricks and creative training ideas! We hope to get mule folks from all over to enroll in our new adventure and look forward to sharing lots of great ideas (ours & yours) throughout the year! We are just getting started so check back often for lots of new posts and videos.
