Blackie courageously battles for his life, and despite the initial bleak prognosis, he's defying the odds yet again. Over the weekend, the ER suggested euthanasia, but I insisted on a 24-36 hour fight, a crucial period during which he received a much-needed blood transfusion. With only one bag available, it was a miracle he was a match! Blackie's levels stabilized enough, allowing him to return home to his anxious mama with ongoing follow-up care.

His future is uncertain, with the possibility of tick diseases causing his decline, or even end-stage renal failure. Yet, we remain steadfast in our determination to fight alongside him. Your support is appreciated as we navigate the unknowns ahead. 🖤

Another last minute rescue... another shep not acclimating well in the shelter setting, young & scared, and simply out of time 😞

His name is Miles and he is 2 yo. No longer wanted by his family with the arrival of a baby, passed to a new home briefly, but soon found himself tied to a post at a local animal rescue that didn't have available space. He finally landed in a full SPCA, where he struggled to adjust. An employee who had grown fond of him reached out to us.... and today he was just out of time so I made the trip to meet him... I agreed that he needed to decompress and now here he is taking the walk of freedom in the field ❤️ Welcome Miles, wish him luck, and follow along.

Wylie, TX (~30 miles NE of Dallas) - 12YO male and female pitbulls

Nyla (55lbs) and Gotti (65lbs) are looking for a new home, preferably together.
They are both up to date on shots. Nyla is spayed but Gotti is not neutered. They are both friendly and enjoy laying around, playing and going for walks. They know how to sit on command and although they are losing their hearing now they are still very obedient.

Unfortunately they do not get along with other dogs/cats and have not been around many children. With a newborn in the house the family feels re-homing is their only option.

If you can help please contact the owner: [email protected] / 972-859-9022. The owner is asking for a $50 re-homing fee.

ADMIN WARNING: We will be banning those who make derogatory and negative comments towards owners, shelter workers, etc. without further warning. None of you know anyone’s situation, and what you think you might do, or the owner should do, in these cases is irrelevant. The fact that the pet is posted on this page shows that an effort is being made to find a positive resolution for it. Thank you so much to all of you who network and attempt to help these pets, we have a zero tolerance policy for anything else. We appreciate your cooperation and feel free to tag an admin if you see inappropriate comments. We are attempting to keep up as best we can, but it’s getting ridiculous and overwhelming with the amount of outright nastiness being spewed on this page.

Abilene, TX - 9YO female spayed hound mix, 84lbs

🚨URGENT 🚨

Animal ID: -A-33321
Intake Date: 11/17/23

Adoption Fee - FREE

Tigger has at least $450 in pledges for reputable 501c3 Rescue

Tigger gave nine years of her life to her previous family only to be dumped in a kill Shelter after they decided to get a new puppy. Now Tigger is on the Urgent list and will die soon if no one steps up to give her a forever home! Tigger is alone , scared and extremely confused sitting in her concrete cell. Believe me, we're thinking all of the things all of you are thinking but Tigger needs our help to get out of the Shelter alive ! So please let's concentrate on helping her! Tigger is barky/reactive in her kennel, I don't blame her she's never been in a place as scary as this before! A lot of potential adopters will just walk past her kennel due to this and not stop to see the awesome , beautiful senior she is!

Tigger is listed as a Spayed, 84 lb, Terrier/mixed breed, large but from the looks of Tigger she is most likely a Plott Hound mix. Tigger is tolerant of other dogs but at 9 yrs old the previous owner said she isn't big on playing anymore. Tigger will correct younger dogs, which from the sounds of it is how she landed in the Shelter in what is supposed to be her golden years. There was no info about cats. Tigger takes treats very gently and as you can see is absolutely gorgeous! Please share this post to help save Tigger's life!

Available for adoption from:
Abilene Texas City Shelter
925 South 25th Street.
Abilene, TX

Shelter Number is 325-698-0085
