This is Flipper... another unsocialized, completely freaked out Amish reject. I ended up having to carry her outside. We put her with another shelter dog Catalina and she began to come out of her shell and play with her.. Of course I didn't get video of that 🤦♀️ She is up for adoption at the Knox County Dog Shelter.
Correction: Flipper is a male 😊
Judy Judy Judy.. is still looking for a place to land.
Little history on Judy is her people got evicted and left her behind outside. Then she got pregnant and the landlord came and took all her babies. We're guessing he didn't do that so he could bottle feed them. Judy was once again left out in the cold and was desperately trying to get into people's houses especially the one where she lived. So I took her and got her fixed. I didn't want to release her back to living on the streets. She really isn't a fan of other cats. She tolerates dogs fine. She doesn't seek attention just canned food. She would make a fantastic single shop or garage cat! Located in Mt Vernon OH.
Cornelia was living in a culvert in an industrial park near the Owens Corning factory. Once it got cold and the culvert turned to ice, I knew she couldn't live there. She had a huge abscess on her neck from being attacked by something. I got her fixed & vaccinated and she has been living in my kitten nursery ever since. Cornelia is very sweet but cautious. She lives a small life, doesn't leave her perch too often, never tries to go outside. She would be a great shop or garage cat or ideally an indoor cat. Located in Mt Vernon, OH.
I have 3 more indoor/outdoor/barn cats looking for homes. All 3 are friendly but independent. I haven't been advertising them since its been so cold because I wanted to keep them safe & warm.
Of course, I'll get comments that say "they should be indoor cats", but I'm sorry there are just too many cats and not enough indoor homes, so sometimes a barn or shop that feeds them and gives them shelter is better than the streets they came from.
All are fixed and vaccinated. None of them are bonded so can go separately. I can them let out during the day and they don't run away and then I put them away at night. Mt Vernon, OH.
My sweet baby Cali went to heaven today.🥺I always knew this day would come and tried to prepare myself but it didn't work. 💔
She was the first small dog I've ever had. I'd only fostered big dogs up to that point. When @wagsandwhiskerspetrescue took on a hoarding case down in Mexicali and needed fosters, I said okay but I'll only take the 2 biggest dogs out of the bunch and one of those was Cali. 😍 She got adopted twice and returned twice. Each time she got adopted, my heart broke because deep down, I knew she was mine, and finally when the second person returned her for running away, I knew she was never leaving me again. We loved each other very, very much. She had so much spunk and was so expressive with her face. When I was a wildlife biologist in California, she went to work with me every single day. I'm just so happy I had as many years with her as I did.
*ADOPTED 💘
TNR (Trap Neuter Return) is very hard sometimes. I got this big guy fixed on Thursday and he should've been released back to the streets where he came from on Friday but here he is on Sunday still in my bathroom because he is just so sweet. He even let me clean his ears. I'm throwing it out there just in case Hamhock could even be someone's barn cat. I have so many cats already that are still looking for homes that I just can't absorb another one. He is neutered and got his rabies shot but not FELV/FIV tested because we don't do that for TNR cats because the test is more expensive than the whole surgery AND Rabies Vax. He did get flea treatment and dewormed. Mt Vernon OH.
Nothing to see here. Just a kitten and her chicken. #bringtheminside
Look who's actually became friends (or at least tolerant roommates)? Cornelia and Judy. 💖💖 They're both super, easy laid back gals that I think would blossom in a house or make awesome shop cats. They're not needy, just wants their wet food! They were rescued off the streets and now spayed and vaccinated. Located in Mt Vernon OH
*ADOPTED! 💝
This latest bathroom kitten has me so worried. She's probably around 12-15 weeks old (rough estimate) and has a huge tight belly. If she wasn't so young, I'd say preggers but no nips showing so best case scenario is worms but of course I'm freaking out over possible FIP! I'll take pregnancy over that! I've dewormed her and she is pooping and eating/drinking fine.
Adopted! 💝
Binx & Dexter are at We Lov Pets now so go look at these VERY social kittens. They are still looking for their homes. Fixed, vaccinated and FELV/FIV negative. They are a bonded pair so need to go together. They are super friendly and fun and were raised around dogs.
New little black kitten in my bathroom tonight. 🖤
Here are the cats I have down at the Holiday Adoption event next to the Farmers Market. It's the last week for both so come on down! Here until noon.
