Cape Kitty Rescue About 10 years ago an effort was begun to reduce the feral cat population around our dumpsters. Since then, over 50 cats have been spayed or neutered.

Cape Kitty Rescue is a community organization dedicated to taking care of our neighborhood feral cat population, through Trap Neuter Return, feeding, medical care and community education, and rescue and socialization of small feral kittens. In 2012 it became evident that we had a much larger situation and that colonies in our various subdivisions were growing. Last year over 60 kittens were rescue

d, socialized and placed in permanent homes outside our community. We realized that a much more concentrated effort was needed, and Cape Kitty Rescue was born! In addition to the TNR for cats, and rescue and remove for kittens, we intend to undertake an intensive outreach and education program to cat owners, and those who care for the feral or abandoned cats to enlist their help with the spay/neuter program. Through this outreach and education, we also hope to STOP people from abandoning kittens and cats. We also want to reach out to people and work with them to prevent the level of frustration growing to the point that they resort to lethal means to deal with the cat population.

2 out of the 15 babies from Galt Gardens dump… and these are sadly not the smallest 💔

We want to let everyone know all 15 survived and are doing ok now.

Our trapper, the caring resident Chantell, Levi and his mom from Cat Walk, and several others have been scouring all day for the 3rd kitty, and our trapper and volunteer Nicole are back out there tonight. We’ve had no luck so far 💔 Please keep watching for her 🙏

To the individual who did this, step up now, come forward, and take responsibility and accountability for the awful act you did…. We are not stopping till you are identified.

Mitch has lived in our yard and on our deck for 14 years and no one has ever touched except the vet. If we leave the door open, though, he often comes in and sits looking out. I guess he wants to try it out. If we move, he darts out.

Five kittens were born to a feral mother (one that we feed regularly) on July 6th. She brought them nearby when they were 3 weeks old & we started interacting with them. At 5 weeks old we (my husband & I) brought them inside to keep them safe & better socialize them. They are litter box trained. They are weaned - eating dry food. They are all used to being kissed on the nose. All the kittens are initially shy, but sweet and extremely playful when they get to know you.

Litter mates make great friends! I will give them away individually but 2 kittens make great playmates for each other. Four kittens are listed on Petfinder. Their names are Sudoku, Issy, Aws, and Razor. They live together in Coldspring, TX. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have. You can text me at 281-468-3092.

Sadly we lost little Hoover today. He was only 3 years old, but had always seemed to have breathing issues. Apparently he died peacefully with one of the older cats as his companion.

If you have cats, you know that sometimes they just vomit! Yesterday our Village cat Vlad must have eaten his breakfast too fast as he "tossed the cookies. He looked a little guilty or remorseful for having done it in a chair but so cute had to have his pic taken. He's fine today.

We do our best but can't save them all! We got a baby who had been left at the animal shelter. He was half the size he should have been and had severe coccidia and worms. We gave him medicine, food, a good bed and kept him warm, but on the 11th day he left us.
