Fri hotel Bob W. Great place to stay. 1st night Metallica. Beers and shots. Rock on!
Sat recover. Lunch with Jens and Anna. Danish hot dogs 🌭 easy night
Sun Go to Bakkken. Great lunch. Buy Metallica tee shirt. Rest then 2nd Metallica concert. Beers and shots.
Mon pack and travel to Lohals. Birte birthday

It has been 2 weeks after the kite festival and I just gave a deep breath because this year’s event is now over. Yes, it takes a couple weeks to complete all those little items.

Now, I lean my chair back and relax for a second. I think about all the facets of this event.

All the great flyers. All the good food and drinks, the party Saturday night. The different kites in the air!

I really do think of each individual kite flyer, the kites they fly, the fun they add to the event. Ground displays, quad kite flying, dual line flying, huge kites in the sky. I can see each of your faces and remember the smiles and laughs we had together.

I think of my main man Mike Hilton who, when we meet to plan, is always a good meeting.

I think of John Harris and his 50 years of supporting kiting. He is the kite Man!

I think of my mom, Marguerite Stankus and her contributions to the kiting community. And more important her love and blessing to my family. We love you, Marguerite!

Then to my wife, Charlotte. I can talk all day about her love and support. All she does for me, and for the people around her. What a kind and loving soul!

Added, my son and daughter, Alexander and Emily, who support this event in so many ways, teaching kite classes to the children all day long. And its a long day for them!

With these thoughts, I thank each and every one of you! And I reflect back to those kite flyers who I have not seen in a while, in the old days.

What a weekend. What an event! Join us next year for our 20th year.
