Today, our community cat team was in #Warren helping a community member with a group of community cats living in their neighborhood. This kind-hearted individual has been feeding stray cats for years, but their recent health issues has made this challenging.
Rhode Islanders throughout the state care for community cats by providing food and shelter, but often can’t afford spay and neuter services. That’s why we established our Community Cat program in 2020.
The Warren group has at least 15 cats who need spay/neuter services and we estimate it will cost $125 per cat. Our work is community-supported and we do not receive state or city funding.

Shirley / Health Journey Update!
Remember Shirley? Since mid-July, she's been working hard on her mobility and weight loss in foster care. After just a few weeks, she’s walking easier, jumping onto chairs, and navigating stairs like a pro—all while safely shedding pounds.

Chappell Roan (Ten Lives Version)
We were beyond thrilled to welcome the incredible Chappell Roan to our rescue today, and even got treated to a special private concert!
On another note, her namesake, Chappell the cat, and her sister Charli had their vet check-up, where we learned their adorable short stature is likely due to a genetic mutation often seen in "munchkin" cats. Thankfully, they won’t need major surgeries for now, but they do need some help with their teeth. Both girls have recessed and blunted teeth that will require dental work to ensure they're comfortable and healthy.

5-month-old Tucky is a playful feline who loves wand toys. Tucky likes to spend his days hanging out with his foster mom and watching cat TV. He is a sweet and affectionate fella who is easy to love.
Tucky was born outside and has tested positive for feline leukemia (FeLv). He is healthy and thriving, and will need an adopter who can provide the vet care needed to manage FeLv.

15-year-old Twinkles just joined our foster program and let’s just say she is a hot mess. 🥴 Twinkles has flea dermatitis from head to tail and desperately needs dental surgery.
We are working on healing Twinkles’ skin and clearing up a nasty ear infection while we wait for surgery. We hope to have her feeling and looking better in no time!
Twinkles is just one of many sick or injured cats that we’ve helped this year. Although it is costly to care for cats like Twinkles, we believe they deserve to live with dignity.
