It's National Boxer Day! Boxers have ancestors that can be traced to the ancient Assyrians, as long ago as 2000 BC. When training, you must be patient, consistent, and creative because these pups can get bored with repetition. They are loyal to their owners and are happiest when they’re with their families, especially children. They are protective and patient with kids and make ideal family dogs and excellent service dogs!

During World War I Bouvier des Flandres were recruited to help injured soldiers and act as messengers. The Alaskan Malamute was named the official dog of the 49th state in 2010! These pups were faithful companions to the Klondike gold miners who came to Alaska in 1896. They helped Rear Admiral Sir Richard Byrd in his quest to reach the South Pole and served as rescue dogs in Greenland during World War II. It's Standard Poodle Day! 🐩 This breed originated in Germany primarily for hunting. Poodles have hair, not fur, which grows up to a certain point and falls off (shedding). Hair does not fall out, which makes this breed popular with allergy sufferers. 🐾 The poodle cut seems like just a fashion statement, but it is really about function. Less hair makes poodles more efficient swimmers 🌊 but more vulnerable to cold, so poodle owners placed puffs of hair around joints and torso to protect joints and vital organs!😍
